BEST BET: RACE 4, PERSPECTIVE

FIRST RACE

KATE’S KINGDOM by Animal Kingdom out of a mare who has produced a turf winner. Lures Irad. Might get brave if able to shake loose early on the stretch, switch to grass, from inside post. UNION PARK GAL drops, knocking on door, the logical choice. NOT TONIGHT BOBBY got hung wide, ran credibly, from impossible post last time. Continues to improve from Beyer standpoint. Can’t ignore,.

SECOND RACE

Walder on a roll and he’s got two of the six here so why not a seventh straight. Like SURF SHACK best of his duo stepping up off claim but with a couple of sharp works on the resume’ since switching barns. MAN OF VISION logical off last pair. Improving sort but stepping way up, must not bounce at short price off big last out number. HIGH HEATER another recent addition to Walder barn. Ran credibly behind pair of next out winners making local bow on grass. Main question whether he can transfer the improved showing to the dirt.

THIRD RACE

INTO CANDY makes turf debut off decent main track bow at the MSW level although drop for this tag perhaps a bit of a red flag noting the purchase price. Should handle going by Into Mischief. Worth a look. SHOUG and SEAMIALAUGH both proven commodities under these conditions, the former adding blinkers after showing improvement in her last.

FOURTH RACE

PERSPECTIVE the day’s best staying put off the claim after engaging in suicidal early duel with ultimate winner last time. Held own working in company with more seasoned winner Sunshine City for this. BLACK BELT looks intriguing on the drop after turning in even try debuting vs. much better while getting plenty of muck kicked in his face early on over sloppy strip. Expect big improvement. ROYAL WAR a question mark at first asking but attracted Irad and barn certainly can have one ready to fire off bench. Do note 3/19 half at GPW on 2/6.

FIFTH RACE

This one brings back many of key contenders from 1/27 mile that was oddly run especially after Robintakincharge dropped his rider after the break. CANDY CRUSHEM angled wide, finished out near middle of track, never fired late perhaps reacting negatively to that 86 Beyer just four weeks earlier. Looking for rebound effort, mild upset today. BRASSTOWN another who regressed off huge Beyer try the previous outing. Went too fast early, had little late as odds on choice in most recent and facing potential pace pressure today from Robin. MEADE made big middle move, got job done vs. same group last time, just a question of whether he can repeat that effort at what will certainly be a much shorter price this time around.

SIXTH RACE

DASSULT MIRAGE did not have the cleanest of trips while not badly beaten by in form winner Kasim and today’s main threat MACH ONE in his last outing, checking a couple of times along the way. Switches pilot, could be ready to graduate with cleaner sailing. MACH ONE, a half to multiple turf winner No Bang No Boom, drifted into top one’s path mid-stretch, hung late but obviously the one to fear off the effort. COWBOY AT HEART showed some speed in most recent gate drill although pop still looking for first turf winner from limited starters to date.

SEVENTH RACE

SUNSHINE CITY dons set of blinkers off the claim for new connections, ran well two back at seven furlongs in Ky. with runner-up from the race

having captured a $20K claimer here last week. Barn sporting ridiculous numbers with new acquisitions. NICOLE PRINCESS an easy debut winner, probably should still be perfect but for some trouble in last. Working well for this. VIVA LA REINA goes bllinkers off while getting considerable class relief coming up tagged for the first time. Expecting major improvement off latest.

EIGHTH RACE

Lots and lots of options in this one. HIGH NOON RIDER always needs pace help and a clean trip considering his running style but at his best good enough to beat these if able to repeat CC Emerald effort when besting Temple, next out G3 runnerup in the McKnight. IMPERIAL MISSION looking to bounce back after running off with his rider going 11 furlongs last time. Missed a length to red hot Mid Day Image two back, the latter flattering effort winning right back with a 91 Beyer next time. NOBLE INDY has chased home some good ones in each of his last two over local surface including in form Morocco in 2021 bow. Major question ability to win from just off pace with Shot Tanker likely to show the way in this one.

NINTH RACE

MY GOOD MAN returns to preferred surface after not running that badly making local bow on the grass. Finished in front of hard knocking, 5 time winner Automate only to be DQ’d in Laurel finale, should catch legit pace to run at here. Worth a look at the price. CAUSALISTIC exits big runnerup effort behind Ludington at six furlongs when trying N3L company for first time, the latter right back to beat allowance company with 91 Beyer here last weekend. NOBLE EMPIRE stepping well up in company off the claim but hard to fault in present form. Obviously loves the one turn mile concept.

TENTH RACE

FULMINI in dangerous hands off the claim, turns back to a distance he’s handle well in the past and Irad takes the call. Could run ‘em all down if able to secure clean run from the rail. NITRO TIME hard to fault in present form. Likely to stand some catching again. Lures Tyler off KASIM. The latter another on the upswing and on win streak of own at the present time. One of many win factors in this highly competitive starter dash on grass.
