ANALYSIS

BEST BET: RACE 1, TUTTA TERLINGUA

-

FIRST RACE

TUTTA TERLINGUA went from a 6% barn to a 25% barn and promptly won at 5-1 all while getting a Beyer top. Why can’t she improve some more? Toss that route try two back and she looks better. Could she be a horse for course before anyone knows? It is easy to look at the big figure and assume a bounce but this isn’t your typical bounce situation (2nd off a layoff). On top of that, she gets great race flow and figures another perfect trip. JANET’S MAE owns the best last race Beyer at 77. This mare likes to win and likes to win here. It was just bad luck when she reared at the start two back. Form cycle hints at better and we think the tote board tilts in her favor. WALTZING ATTILA has won 10 of 23 and we do love that. Yet to try this dirt is the X factor. Recent works are fast.

SECOND RACE

SQUARED STRAIGHT is knocking on the door and just needs that last oomph to push it in. The blinkers come OFF and that is a 38% move for this barn (Wong). The leading rider climbs aboard and of course that helps. Once again this gelding will have some early company but only if they send and with the equipment off there is a good chance this gelding stalks. OCULUS escapes better to run here. Recent figs certainly fit. ALL CHROME did run a Beyer top previously and it was his first on the grass and around two turns. Lone knock is that turf Tomlinson is only 175. ADDISON BOOM is by a 0 for 1 debut turf sire (2 for 13 with all turf starters). His dam went 2-0-0-0 on the sod. Lone grass sib is 1-0-0-0. LODESTONE is by a 9% debut turf sire. His dam went 1-0-0-0 on the green. Two of five sibs won on the weeds with two having hit the board. LASTEN IMPRESSION exits a key race where 2 of 6 returned to win with figs of 64 and 45.

THIRD RACE

FIVE STAR KIP is just good. Yet to miss the exacta on this dirt and goes for the leading barn. He draws inside where he can save all the early ground into and out of the first turn which comes up quick going a flat mile. Race flow could not be any better as the 4, 5, and 6 all have speed. Let’s move on. PASAMONTE MAN is feeling so good that he switched to the turf last out and won again. He isn’t even bred to like that surface. Class jump is big but it helps the price. This guy wants to pass runners so there is another plus. BE GONE DADDY is the other closer in this race. One of two for this barn so who entered for who? Class jump off the claim all for a barn that is 46% off the red tag and you gotta respect that.

FOURTH RACE

IRON BRITCHES has speed and should get an early breather against this group. Throw in top barn and you’ve got the one to beat. The gelding has yet to miss the board on this dirt if talking place or show. CATS TOUCH might be a new route horse. We see it all the time. This guy missed a Beyer top by one point in recent two turn win. This barn is 39% with horses that won their last race. CAROLINA ISLAND is the best of the rest and goes second out for new barn.

FIFTH RACE

TEMPLE SPIRIT finds a hard nut to crack trying two turns on the turf for his debut but the price will be right. Sire gets both 8% debut and debut turf wins. This gelding’s mom went 13-2-2-2 for 51K and 7-1-2-0 on the grass for 31K. Three of five sibs won with the best earning 659K. Three of five sibs won on the grass with the other two having hit the board. This guy has a string of works and even draws inside. GREY POINT gets a weight break with the jock switch. That turf race three back was rock solid. Losing the rider two back was simply bad luck. ATLATL seems a tad better on the grass or is simply maturing. We like
