THIRD RACE

-

In a relatively pace less race, ALONZO MOSELY gets the nod. Was grabbed into early, steadied sharply on first turn, angled wide for drive while not badly beaten in a race that has since produced pair of next out winners. Drops another notch and gets hot rider up. Hopefully will be forwardly placed here. MOONSHINE NOW finished third in another key race when making turf bow last summer in Delaware. Owns somewhat limited work resume’ prepping for return but looks a good fit for this tag. FLEX could prove controlling speed returning to turf off recent sharp half-mile main track blow out. Might get brave if loose at the price.

FOURTH RACE

ENANO ASTRAY knocking on door at the present time. Chased home wire to wire winner stretching to seven-furlongs in latest. May be just a matter of whether he can handle the one turn mile. PERUVIAN DANCER seconde best behind 7/5 Dropped Anchor in last try at this distance. Stays put off the claim. MR TITO’S broke slow, raced wide while finishing well back of preferred choice in their previous encounter. Expecting better results with cleaner trip in rematch. Ran too well two back, this distance, to ignore.

FIFTH RACE

BUXOM BEAST back to the lawn after being hard used contesting pace in off the turf spring exiting extended vacation last month. May not look back if able to clear off easily enough. BRYNBELLA one to beat on the drop, having held own vs. better around two turns earlier in session. Just a question of whether she can keep close enough during early stages shortening to a sprint for first time in her career. HASHTAG LUCKY poorly posted, still beaten 8 of 11 foes under similar conditions a couple of weeks earlier. Can grab at least a share.

SIXTH RACE

BEAN COUNTER, the day’s best, dropped in to a winning spot for barn getting ready to pack up, head north shortly. Should prove too good for these. AERODYNAMIC a beaten favorite vs. same kind last time when bouncing a tad off near career best Beyer effort just 3 weeks earlier. Good fit for this tag. SAND DRIFT a beaten favorite in last pair against open company at Tampa, slips into a perhaps softer conditioned spot returning to her favorite course.

SEVENTH RACE

NORTHERN cycling back to top form, should repeat turning back to preferred distance, facing state breds for first time in recent memory. GANGLY hopped at the break, never got untracked when trying Fla. breds and disappointing as 7-5 choice last time. Gets a mulligan although abbreviated distance could be main concern. STAR JUANCHO finished third, beaten just a length for second money, under similar conditions in latest. Can grab minor award again at his best.

EIGHTH RACE

COACH PAUL checked and angled five wide on final turn when out-moved by ultimate winner approaching quarter pole dropping to this level for first time just a couple of weeks earlier. Did well to finish second upon recovering, ready to graduate with luckier run. UNDER FIRE ran fifth in a key race in turf bow two back, a repeat of that effort good enough to beat these. FORTY FLASH exits career best effort stretch around two turns for only second time in his career. Won’t be 88-1 this time around but worth considering off the improved showing.
