BEST BET: RACE 8, RAIN

FIRST RACE

Tough card to figure at press time with 70 per cent chance of rain in forecast for Sunday. UNION GAP hard used early, did well to hang on for third behind return winner Chipshape in latest. Ready to score for this tag. MUTAKAAMIL drops, returns to dirt, should be coming best at the end against his younger opposition. CHOSEN FEW debuts off series of decent works although seven furlongs always a challenge off the bench.

SECOND RACE

CHAMPAGNE IVY game in defeat i n latest. Turns back in distance, hard to side against if this one stays on grass.KITTEN TALES a new face with plenty of turf breeding and plenty of works on her resume’. Tab board for further clues. DREAM ABOUT ME switches to sod and does show promising inner course drill prepping for this. May be primed for best yet making third start of her form cycle.

THIRD RACE

FIGHTING FORCE drops in with allowance types for first time after holding own with much better including that key race two back when beaten 2 1/2 lengths by multiple SW Annex. Should find plenty of pace to rate off here. TIO MAGICO has grass pedigree being by Uncle Mo out of a G3 grass winner but must avoid early mix with several other speed types in this lineup. YES THIS TIME hard to ignore in current form and has shown the ability to rate and rally to victory albeit against weaker maiden claiming opposition early in his career.

FOURTH RACE

CHAMPAGNE SALUTE hard to look past at what figures to be a very short price in this abbreviated field. FLASHY TOO and HITECH IS BACK exit well graded MSW dash, both eligible to improve from experience.

FIFTH RACE

FEAR THE DEER gets the nod over a field made up primarily of younger foes despite wheeling back on relatively short rest. Question mark should this one move to main. MR. EINSTEIN overcame eventful start to finish late running second for same tag last time. Knocking on door but another perhaps at best on grass. CURVE showed promise in a.m. both on turf and dirt since latest outing, likely to have plenty of early foot despite the surface today.

SIXTH RACE

GEMO broke slow, rushed, was in tough position between horses when failing to change leads in lataest. Stays put off claim, Zayas stays. Tepid not with cleaner beginning. THE REIGN MAN circled around top one, edged that one out for second money in their previous meeting. Should sit nice stalking trip here. DECKOLOGY has been away but on fringes in all recent tries with this kind.

SEVENTH RACE

RED FLAG ALERT a 4yo facing younger foes while getting set of shades to boot. Well spotted to earn diploma if this one stays on turf. LOVE LIFE another who dons blinkers for first time off promising effort when tagged for first time last out. HE AIN’T NO SAINT stuck in second gear at the moment and chalk burner in last pair.

EIGHTH RACE

RAIN in good hands off the claim. Gets set of blinkers. Expecting improvement off dull, wide running effort last time. MIZ CHAPLIN has been away since September but training well for return. AKOR a question mark making main track bow. May fit here if handling the surface.

NINTH RACE

GITANA speed of the speed from inside while re-uniting with Jaramillo, who drove her to easy N2L win earlier this winter. LUANN hard to fault opff first pair. Stepping up a tad but strictly one to beat again. SHES ALL WOMAN a bit of a hanging sort of late but hard to leave out of the equation.

TENTH RACE

COMPETTI has been freshened since her latest, taking on younger opposition in finale. Showed enough from the gate to give nod if away clean from the rail. KAYLA’S TUNE easily handled preferred choice when they met on turf last fall, just a question of her ability to handle return to dirt with blinkers removed today. PIPER getting some much needed class relief while getting regular rider Zayas back aboard. Logical for this tag.
