SIXTH RACE

-

SAILOR SPEED ran an underrated race first time out at Saratoga last July after trouble at the start, then caught turf and slop in his next two starts; earned a 65 Beyer breaking his maiden back on a fast track as a 2yo, before wheeling back on relatively short rest in the Smoke Glacken before the layoff; wasn’t aggressively ridden while racing wide and going evenly off the bench at Parx; can improve making his second start back from a nice outside post. SILIPO has been trouble-prone from the gate and was compromised once again last time when bumped at the start and left to chase over a speed-favoring track off the claim; in good form right now and a nice fit at this level. DOIN’ITTHERIGHTWAY dropped out of a pair of tough stakes and added Lasix en route to handling a weaker bunch going a mile last time with a new top Beyer; stakes-winning sprinter has won three of his last four vs. non-stakes rivals and is a threat right back off the claim for Maker.

SEVENTH RACE

KHALI MAGIC has held his form despite coming up short in his first three attempts in this condition, all of them over a mile; finished strongly to win each of his last two starts sprinting; cuts back with tactical speed from the outside. BANK ON ANNA improved to break her maiden while loose on a strong rail in January while dropping out of a $500k stake; made it two in a row while overcoming a bad stumble at the start two starts back, and ran well again back up in class last time; logical. PRETTY CLEVER chased to no avail off the layoff in March, then improved to close down a clear leader in the mud last time with a 69 Beyer; has hit the board in all six starts sprinting on dirt and is adaptable to any pace scenario.

EIGHTH RACE

GRADED ON A CURVE has turned up sparingly over the past two years but has run nothing but good races since scoring off the bench over this course and distance in June of 2020; also won under strong handling first time back to kick off his 2019 campaign. K P ALL SYSTEMS GO looked good going back-to-back with strong finishes from off the pace as a 3yo in California, and just missed making it three in a row when coming up short in the Cinema’ Grade 3-placed runner hasn’t won a race in over two years but has held hos form along the way and faces state-breds for the first time while cutting back and returning to turf. DANZIGWITHTHESTARS improved when stretched out as a 3yo to win two straight at Saratoga and then finish a game 4th in the Better Talk Now, after which he was no match for GRADED ON A CURVE at Aqueduct; second off the layoff with blinkers going back on.

NINTH RACE

SENSIBLECONCLUSION ran well in his first two starts off the claim for Barker, then has excuses in his next two starts vs. MSW rivals; has some speed to go along with enough pedigree to handle this surface switch - dams two career wins both came on the grass and she was stakes-placed on this surface, and this is the female family of top NY-bred turfer Hessonite. TOPIC CHANGER the first foal from a dam who went 1 for 2 in her career and broke her maiden routing on turf with an 84 Beyer; Clement is excellent with first time starters. BLESS BLESS chased a front-running winner and prevailed for second in his turf debut at this level, then stepped up into the MSW ranks for his next start and earned a 70 Beyer while gaining ground at every point of call; back in with maiden claimers off the layoff.
