EIGHTH RACE

MASTER MCGRATH was in tight between rivals early in the stretch before getting up for third in a May 1 N1X, his first start since beating $30K maidens over Turfway’s Tapeta two months earlier. KEEP GRINDING participated in all three legs up the 2021 Canadian Triple Crown and vied for the lead in mid-stretch in the Queen’s Plate before tiring. He’s been working right along and could be an effective stalker. COLLECTIVE FORCE chased a hot pace before coming up empty in his comeback, an effort too bad to be true. Use him on the bottom of intra-race wagers, along with EMBRACE MY UNCLE.

NINTH RACE

EGBERT J made the lead in the stretch before getting caught late when second while favored at first asking vs. OS/$40K maidens. She shouldn’t be out of her league in this seemingly light maiden special. EMPRESS TIGRESS was a $410K OBS 2yo purchase last year. The shipper has worked strictly on the dirt, and her lack of synthetic track experience is a negative. NO MORE DIAMONDS folded in the final furlong after dueling up front in her debut and might improve with a less aggressive approach.

TENTH RACE

COUSIN BOB has the highest last-out Beyer in this $15K NW2 tilt (62), which he got for beating $10K maidens on the turnback from a route to seveneighths Dec. 3. SUPER BREW also graduated the last time he went postward in the fall, doing so with ease against $15K rivals under Gallardo.
