How to play

- By Kenny Peck

RACE 7:

MAC B QUICK has won two straight, and though he’s up in class he has license to threaten here if he can take another step forward on the Beyer scale off his career-best figure last time out. K C TIZ MORO has run second in three straight tries, but he was game in defeat in his latest and is a top contender in the Wayne Hanks Memorial (2).

RACE 8:

DUST EM was off the board in his first and only try on the turf to date, but he had a valid pace excuse there and still earned a representative figure. He clearly is in top form off that last game score and perhaps good enough to spring the upset in the Texas Horse Racing Hall of Fame. KENAI BOB merits a long look on the strength of his turf figures, which are among the best in the field (2).

RACE 9:

I’M A COWBOY made a smooth move to make the lead on the turn and drew off steadily through the lane to win his debut nicely. The resulting Beyer is the best figure any of these has earned, and he can repeat if he can run back to it in the Texas Stallion Staunch Avenger (1).

RACE 10:

Using them all in the Texas Stallion Pan Zareta (Filly Division) Stakes, as this sprint seems much more wide open than the ninth race, for colts and geldings. This race features several experienced runners with similar figures and five firsters (12).

RACE 11:

BOERNE surprised with her rating ability in her allowance score last time, sitting off the pace and making a decisive move in the lane to prove much the best. That newfound versatility gives her lots of options in the Danny Shifflett Scholarship Stakes, and with a favorable trip she’s going to be tough to beat (1).

THE PLAY: 3, 5 / 7, 8 / 6 / ALL / 9 = $24 Ticket
