EL SOCIO a game second while finishing several lengths in front of preferred choice on 1/21 after benefiting from a perfect trip before being out-game to wire by ultimate winner. Drawn well outside but could get a similar pace stalking, wide trip that is usually effective on the Tapeta.

EIGHTH RACE

KING D’ORO hard to ignore off last when second best in well graded MSW test despite some trouble along the way. Irad takes the call. Should be along at a much shorter price this time around. FAYETTE SPIRIT showed big improvement at second asking and perhaps ready for best yet with two under belt. MONDEGO demands respect making debut for this barn and bred for the surface being kin to G3 German winner West End Girl.

CARROTHERS unfavorably drawn on rail over the Tapeta but getting another chance after encountering much trouble, holding own with much better last month on the turf. NIC’S BRO a question mark on grass but ran well enough two back after slow start with same kind on Tapeta to get a look at what figures to be honest price. Working well on main for this. BRIT’S CANDYMAN could return quick dividends off the claim as what appears to be controlling speed in this lineup.EXCHANGE DAY a five time winner who missed a head to Brits Candyman on synthetic during the fall but equally adept on grass as well.

CLASSY EDITION returned from long vacation full of run earning high marks dominating allowance company here last month and continues to train like a horse ready to repeat the effort again in the main event. Will have to hold off old nemesis KATHLEEN O. who easily ran top one down a year ago in Davona Dale and strictly the main danger coming in undefeated over this track. MIDNIGHT STROLL freshened since nice effort in the Raven Run and a Grade 3 winner at this distance.

TWELFTH RACE

ASTRILA had a pretty adventurous trip debuting last summer at the Spa and deserves another chance making 3yo bow with Lasix and against what appears to be a softer bunch. Certainly bred for the going being kin to G2 winner and G1 placed Tell our Daddy and SW Dynadrive. OLYMPIC ARTIST was right with the pace when taking up sharply in run down backstretch in debut and certainly deserving of a second chance today. Might not look back if getting loose as expected in finale. MY SWEET AFFAIR launches career off series of decent looking main track trials at PBD and with some breeding for the lawn.
