Bolt d’Oro – Follow No One, by Uncle Mo

Instant Coffee is the morning-line favorite for Saturday’s Grade 2 Louisiana Derby at Fair Grounds, which will award 100 Kentucky Derby points to its winner. The Gold Square LLC colorbearer is by a promising young sire and from a steadily productive female family.

This is the first crop for Bolt d’Oro, a multiple Grade 1 winner at 2 who went on to be a graded stakes performer at 3. A son of classic sire Medaglia d’Oro, Bolt d’Oro led a competitive 2022 freshman sire class by earnings.

Instant Coffee, winner of the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club last fall and the Grade 3 Lecomte to start this year, is one of two multiple graded stakes winners favored in major Kentucky Derby points races this Saturday for the young sire. Major Dude, winner of the Grade 2 Pilgrim and Grade 3 Kitten’s Joy on turf, is the morning-line favorite for the Grade 3 Jeff Ruby at Turfway Park.

Bolt d’Oro also is the sire of graded stakes winner Boppy O and stakes winners Christian d’Oro, Corona Bolt, It’s Bobs Business, and Mounsieur Coco.

Instant Coffee is the first foal out of Follow No One, who is by classic sire Uncle Mo. The mare scored her two wins in a maiden at a mile on turf, and in an off-turf allowance going a mile and 70 yards on a sloppy dirt track. She also was third in the Alma North Stakes at seven furlongs on dirt at Laurel Park.

Follow No One, out of stakes winner Miss Red Delicious, is a half-sister to Grade 3 turf winner Nootka Sound and to stakes winner Golden Delicious. Miss Red Delicious, out of graded stakes-placed juvenile Miss Mary Apples, is a half-sister to Lady Apple, a multiple graded stakes-winning millionaire on dirt; American Apple, a Grade 3-winning turf sprinter last year as a juvenile; and to stakes winner Dr. Diamonds Prize.
