“The Undoing” (8 p.m., 9 p.m., 10:30 p.m., HBO): David E. Kelley (“Big Little Lies”) adapted JeanHanff Korelitz’s novel “You Should Have Known” for this six-part series helmed by Emmy winner Susanne Bier (“The Night Manager”). Oscar winner Nicole Kidman heads the cast as therapist Grace Fraser, whose idyllic life is shattered when she discovers her husband, Jonathan (Hugh Grant), may be responsibl­e for a horrifying and widespread calamity. The fallout forces Grace to abandon her comfortabl­e life and forge a new one for herself and her family.

(7 p.m., CW): Jax (Priscilla Quintana) leads her team in search of a lost alien race that may hold the key to saving the Universe in the new episode “Beyond Here Lies Nothin’.” On their journey, however, they find themselves tormented by troubling nightmares that arise out of each individual’s personal traumas and most intense fears. Oliver Dench, Noah Huntley, Ben Radcliffe, Tina Casciani, Akshay Kumar, Nicole Mavromatis and Vikash Bhai co-star.

“Chateau Christmas” (7 p.m., Hallmark): Margot (Merritt Patterson), a celebrated pianist who has put the soft-pedal on her career at the moment, returns to Chateau Newhaus to spend Christmas with her family. During her nostalgic visit, Margot unexpected­ly reconnects with Jackson (Luke Macfarlane), an old flame who rekindles some sparks as he also helpsMargo­t rediscover the passion formusic that has recently grown dormant in this 2020 romantic drama.

“Scream” (8 p.m., CBS): Veteran horror director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson created a new film genre with this 1996 thriller: the horror parody. But we’re not talking over-the-top parody in the “Naked Gun” vein; this is a real horror movie with a sly wink toward the convention­s of the genre, populated by characters who have seen enough slasher films to know all the tricks. But if they’re so smart, why are so many of them getting killed? Neve Campbell stars.

(8 p.m., 11 p.m., 1:30 a.m., Showtime): In a new episode called “Smells Like Bear,” John and Onion (Ethan Hawke, Joshua Caleb Johnson) continue their efforts to raise money for their cause, a quest that compels them to make the arduous trek to Canada on foot. Meanwhile, the abolitioni­st firebrand Harriet Tubman (guest star Zainab Jah) gives her coveted endorsemen­t to Brown in a room filled with new recruits.

“Deliver by Christmas” (9 p.m., HMM): As the holidays approach, Molly (Alvina August), the owner of a bakery, has two new men in her life — sort of. The first is Josh (Eion Bailey), a handsome widower who recentlymo­ved to town with his young son. Also, however, she is somewhat spellbound by amystery client whom she’s nevermet in real life. Itmay take some time before Molly realizes the two gents have a lot in common in this 2020 yuletide romance.

“I Love aMama’s Boy” (9 p.m., 1 a.m., TLC): Women who have fallen in love with a guy they want to marry are crestfalle­n to discover their prospectiv­e husband has another woman in his life — his mother— in this new reality series. Almost without exception, these are men who have been spoiled and coddled by their mothers ever since childhood, and Mommy Dearest isn’t remotely interested in cutting the emotional umbilical cord this late in the game. The series follows four young women as they compete with a formidable older woman.
