“On the 12th Date of Christmas”( 7 p.m., Hallmark): Jennifer (Mallory Jansen), a headstrong game designer, is teamed with the more experience­d Aidan (Tyler Hynes), who doesn’t play well with others, on a challengin­g assignment: creating, in less than a week, a romantic, Chicago-wide scavenger hunt with a “12 Days of Christmas” theme that’s part of a marketing campaign for a new hotel. Executives in the hotel chain’s corporate offices are insanely demanding, but if Jennifer and Aidan can pull it off, theymay well land a huge account in this new yuletide romantic comedy.

“Pandora” (7 p.m., CW): Xander and Jett (Oliver Dench, Akshay Kumar) embark on amission to rescue Ralen (Ben Radcliffe), who has been swept up in the highstakes world of an intergalac­tic fight club in the new episode “On a Night Like This.” Elsewhere, Osborn (Noah Huntley) tasks Jax (Priscilla Quintana) with acquiring some vital intel from a beautiful Sumi princess who is about to get married.

“The Simpsons”( 7 p.m., FOX): Itmay have missed the Halloween deadline, but the new “Treehouse of Horror XXXI” marks the 31st edition of this seasonal favorite. As usual, the format is a terror-themed trilogy, this year encompassi­ng a frightenin­g look at the 2020 election, parodies of Pixar and “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” and a ninth birthday that Lisa (voice of Yeardley Smith) just can’t get over. Dan Castellane­ta, Julie Kavner and Nancy Cartwright also star in the voice cast.

“Killer Competitio­n” (7 p.m., 11 p.m., LMN): Nicole, a high school senior, is obsessed with becoming her class valedictor­ian, so she goes along when her friend Sarah suggests they prevail over her stiff competitio­n by hacking into the school records and manipulati­ng test scores. After their subterfuge results in the suicide of another student, new evidence comes to light suggesting the “suicide” was actually murder.

“Virus Hunters” (8 p.m., 10 p.m., NATGEO): Timed to coincide with National Geographic Magazine’s November issue on COVID-19, this new companion special chronicles global efforts by researcher­s, epidemiolo­gists and other experts who are racing to avert the next deadly contagion by identifyin­g and targeting the human behaviors and environmen­tal factors that can trigger them. Chief among these, according to some reports, are deforestat­ion.

“Race in America: Our Vote Counts” (9 p.m., 11:15 p.m., Bravo): In this new 90-minute special (also simulcast on E!), host Nina Parker welcomes a group of celebrity guests to talk about issues facing America today and how events have converged tomake the Black vote more important than ever before, on both a local and national level. Topics also include the ways in which local elections play a critical role in changing the system and how a new generation of voters can wield real power through their votes.

“Holly& Ivy” (9 p.m., HMM): Big-hearted Melody (Janel Parrish) is heartsick to learn that Nina, a young single mother who lives nearby, is gravely ill, but she promises to keep the latter’s daughters, Holly and Ivy, together, no matter what happens. As a former foster child herself, Melody takes this responsibi­lity very seriously, but the fixer-upper where she lives needs some repairs to meet the requiremen­ts of child welfare officials.
