Gratulacje! – Warsaw Inn named best buffet

-

For 41 years, the Warsaw Inn in Lynwood has been serving up Polish and other European favorite dishes to legions of devoted customers.

The buffet restaurant, named the Best in Southland by Daily Southtown readers, is owned by Angie Golom, who prides herself on ensuring that everything served at the restaurant is cooked and baked from scratch.

“Everything is made fresh daily from scratch here on the premises,” Angie says. Warsaw Inn has several favorite specialties customers especially enjoy like stuffed cabbage, Polish sausage and, of course, pierogi. “We pinch all the pierogi by hand,” Angie says.

In addition to these specialties, the daily buffet also includes a variety of soups and salads, roast beef, baked ham, fried chicken, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, potato pancakes, vegetables, blintzes and pastries. Each night also features a few chef ’s specials, such as roast duck, fried perch, barbecue ribs, liver and onions and roast pork loin, among many others.

Angie says the quality and consistency of the food is a big part of what keeps customers coming back. “We’ve been here for 41 years, our food is consistent and delicious,” she says, adding that even customers who haven’t been in for years — decades even — are happy to return to find that everything tastes the same as during their last visit.

The wait staff at Warsaw Inn is dedicated to making guests feel like part of the family. Angie says many employees have been working at the restaurant for years and have developed close friendships with the customers.

“People walk in here and they feel like they are coming to a family gathering for a nice meal,” she says, adding that the restaurant has a homey feel and is very family oriented.
