1. 312 Block Party: The Goose Island Beer Company’s annual weekend festival has live performanc­es from Brooklyn’s TV on the Radio, local rapper Mick Jenkins, Third Man Records’ Lillie Mae and The Hold Steady. 2. Chicago Plus Market: Inaugural vintage market hosted by Luvsick Plus offers fashions in size 14 and up, handmade goods, jewelry, art work and a photo booth. 3. YAS! Fest: This daylong showcase of performanc­es, interactiv­e activities and pop-up activation­s will celebrate works done across the city as part of its Year of Creative Youth. Rapper Desiigner and local R&B artist Ravyn Lenae will close the night. 4. Free Museum Day: The nationwide event courtesy of Smithsonia­n magazine, offers free admission to many top attraction­s, including the Adler Planetariu­m, American Writers Museum, Glessner House in Chicago and the suburbs. 5. Loft Golightly: This immersive, theatrical event in Wicker Park is based on the party Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) throws in the classic film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” Mingle with guests dressed as characters from the film as live DJs play vintage sounds. 6. Flutter into Fall: The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum celebrates fall, its butterfly haven and new exhibit, “Dora and Diego — Let’s Explore!” with Monarch butterfly tagging demos, craft projects, butterfly releases and scavenger hunts. 7. Chicago Artists Coalition Open House: CAC hosts an evening of interactiv­e activities, artist chats, drinks and light bites in its new home. This year’s edition of the ANNUAL is curated by multimedia artist Jordan Martins, whose exhibition “Mixtapes for the Next Millennium” will also be featured. 8. Laver Cup tournament and Fan Zone: For three days, the Laver Cup pits six top European players against six of their counterpar­ts from the rest of the tennis world. There will also be an interactiv­e Fan Zone equipped with mini-courts and an Internatio­nal Tennis Hall of Fame gallery. 9. Communion: An Evening of Magic: This 70-minute production from magician Brett Schneider has sleight-ofhand tricks, disappeara­nces, mindreadin­g and psychologi­cal suggestion. The show relies heavily on audience participat­ion. 10. Henry Rollins Travel Slideshow Tour: The old punk has traveled across the globe, and not just with bands like Black Flag, Rollins Band and Minor Threat. He has put together a narrated slideshow of photos taken from Baghdad to Pyongyang.
