Speak Out

-

Some free market capitalists who fight government regulation and corporate taxes were the first in line to get taxpayer bailouts during the pandemic. It’s intellectually dishonest for entrepreneurs to claim excess profits in good times for taking risks, then get the government to bail out their downside risk during bad times. People who sell pet rocks don’t deserve bailouts.

Twice now in the last few weeks Speak Out commentators write about what Christians believe or don’t believe. I say to them that judgements about what a person truly believes are reserved for the Lord God almighty. No one here can judge the heart of a person.

To Dave of Oak Lawn, shame on you for judging Christians who feel that all lives matter. All lives do matter because God created all of us in various colors. Christians are Asian, Black,

Hispanic, Indian, White, etc. We love the Lord and love our neighbor and this group of caring individuals continuously support and help others in need locally, nationally and internationally. I will pray for you.

Lori Lightfoot and David Brown have asked people to come forward if they see anyone who commits murders in Chicago. They don’t do it because their families and themselves are threatened if they do come forward. This has been going on for 20-something years and nothing is solved this way. If these people really did care about children dying in the city of Chicago, they would take the help from the federal government or the president. Quit playing politics with little children’s lives.

When Trump was running for president he said “what have you go to lose” when he was talking to the Black Americans and the Mexican Americans and everybody that was not totally white and born rich. He had a point, what have we got to lose? But the only thing is I don’t think he should have gone out of his way to show us what we had to lose and take it away from us.

Ed, Homer Glen

I have a serious question. Why is it if a white person put fist in the air and says white power it’s racist? If a black person puts his fist in the air and says black power and it’s not racist? Then a BLM leader says white people are subhuman. Is that not racist?
