“DoctorWho” “Archer” “Down a Dark Hall” TALK SHOWS
(7 p.m., BBCA): This special episode, which concludes Thursday, reassembles aWhovian adventure from 1967 revolving around Patrick Troughton’s second incarnation of the Doctor. Unfortunately, that six-part story— which finds the Doctor and his companions battling identity-stealing aliens called the Chameleons — largely went missing after its initial broadcast. This two-night re-creation has been assembled by using new animations over the original off-air recordings of the show’s soundtrack.
(9 p.m., 10:07 p.m., 12:10 a.m., FXX): Woodhouse, the much-put-upon British valet of Sterling Archer (voice of H. Jon Benjamin), went to his reward a few seasons back, but now that Archer is home after an extended coma, a new valet named Aleister has taken over the role of gentleman’s gentleman in the household in the new episode “Best Friends.” Against all odds, the prickly Archer is downright smitten with this new employee, but will Aleister be able to get “the master” to do his prescribed rehab exercises instead of eating himself to death?
(10:30 p.m., Syfy): After much misbehavior, Kit Gordy (AnnaSophia Robb) is shipped off to Blackwood Boarding School, amysterious academy for “gifted” girls. She and the four others who seem to make up the entire student body are mesmerized by the intense headmistressMadame Duret (Uma Thurman), who begins to draw out their previously unknown talents. The mystery deepens as they break through layer after layer ofmisdirection to discover the true, horrifying purpose of the school. Victoria Moroles, Isabelle Fuhrman. Rosie Day and Taylor Russell also star in this 2018 thriller.
