“Black Narcissus” (7 p.m., 10:50 p.m., FX): Based on the same Rumer Godden novel that also inspired a successful 1947 feature starring Deborah Kerr, this new British limited series adaptation, airing tonight in its entirety, stars Gemma Arterton in the Kerr role of Sister Clodagh, an ambitious young nun heading a mission in the remote Himalayas. The location, a hilltop palace with a tragic history, proves a daunting spiritual home for the nuns.

“Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life” (7 p.m., CW): Originally created for a streaming service, this four-part 2016 miniseries (airing nightly through Thursday) picks up life among some of the beloved characters from the 2000-07 TV characters as they go through the course of a year. Tonight’s opener is “Winter,” which sees Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) giddy over having an article in the New Yorker. She returns to Stars Hollow to ponder her next steps.

“L.A.’s Finest” (7 p.m., FOX): The team digs further into their investigat­ion of the missing diamonds in the new episode “Dangerous Minds,” and the task force pulls off a risky drug bust. Elsewhere, both Syd and McKenna (Gabrielle Union, Jessica Alba) must confront some of their deepest secrets yet as the threat of Knox continues to hang over their heads. Duane Martin, Zach Gilford and Ernie Hudson also star; Laz Alonso, Rebecca Budig, Jake Busey and David Fumero guest star.

“Heart of the Holidays” (7 p.m., Hallmark): As a child, Sam (Vanessa Lengies) dreamed of growing up and making the world a better place. Now, however, she’s living in New York and working as a powerful Wall Street stockbroke­r, a job that has led to a huge shift in her personal priorities. A misunderst­anding prompts Sam to return to her rustic hometown to spend the holidays with her family.

“Below Deck” (8 p.m., Bravo): Carrying the weight of the whole deck team on his shoulders starts to take a toll on the good-natured Eddie in the new episode “Do Not Disturb.” Newbie James, feeling like a fish out of water, struggles to connect with his crewmates. Mistakes from a few people fracture the charter, and Captain Lee is forced to lay down the law to his crew after a series of dangerous mishaps.

“The Good Doctor” (9 p.m., ABC): Morgan and Shaun (Fiona Gubelmann, Freddie Highmore) are forced to wrestle with a decision no one wants to confront when their patient who is pregnant with twins is stricken with sharp pains in the new episode “Not the Same.” On the homefront, Shaun urges a skeptical Lea (Paige Spara) to move back in with him.
