NOTICE OF PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASE FOR LYONS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 103
I. A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax increase for Lyons Elementary School District No. 103 for 2020 will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the George Washington Middle School, 8101 W. Ogden Avenue, Lyons, Illinois. Due to the Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation in place at the time of publication of this notice, and the determination by Superintendent Rivera and Board President Torres that the public attendance is not practical and prudent, public participation/ comments for the public hearing, will be done remotely via: 1) telephone by dialing 617-675-4444 PIN: 207 656 279 9904#, or 2) Google Meets by logging into https://meet.google.com/ibv-neri-ubp. Additionally, public comments regarding the proposed Levy may be emailed to Charline Latronica at latronicac@lyons103.org and said comments will be read at the public hearing. II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for the year 2019 were $21,237,252.
The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2020 are $22,297,846. This represents a 4.99% increase over the previous year.
III. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2019 were $1,043,175.
The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases for 2019 are $1,043,175. This represents a 0% increase from the previous year.
IV. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2019 were $22,280,427.
The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2020 are $23,341,021. This represents a 4.76% increase over the previous year.
