“Flip or Flop” (8 p.m., 11 p.m., HGTV): In the new episode “Covered Costs,” Tarek and Christina take a big risk as they buy a house in Orange, Calif., sight unseen. Once they are able to gain access to the structure, they discover that the interior has been heavily vandalized, and the owners covered up a disgusting pool in the backyard. Other problems rear their head in an old addition, and a concrete walkway outside also may cause trouble.

“One Night Only: The Best of Broadway” (7 p.m., NBC): Tina Fey hosts this two-hour music special benefiting members of the Broadway community as they struggle to cope with a pandemic that has shut down their industry for more than a year. The casts of “Mean Girls,” “Jagged Little Pill” and other musicals will perform in the streets of New York. Among other scheduled performers are Kelly Clarkson and Patti LaBelle.

“The First 48 Presents Critical Minutes” (7 p.m., 11:03 p.m., AE): The new episode “Rookies” spotlights three new homicide detectives in condensed stories. A baffling robbery in New Orleans takesmonth­s to unravel, while in Phoenix, a first-time detective who has only one clue follows a crime that started with a routine fender-bender, but set off a horrible chain of events. Finally, an Atlanta newbie pursues suspects in a deadly drug deal. Another episode immediatel­y follows.

“Grey’s Anatomy” (8 p.m., ABC): Bailey (Chandra Wilson) begins to panic when she learns of anothermaj­or surge in COVID-19 cases, since she has several loved ones in assisted living facilities, in the new episode “Fight the Power.” Elsewhere, Jackson and Richard (Jesse Williams, James Pickens Jr.) team up against Catherine (recurring guest star Debbie Allen) to teach her amuch-needed lesson.

“Swamp People: Serpent Invasion” (8 p.m., 12:03 a.m., History): The hunters screw up their courage and venture into a remote part of the Everglades that is known for both unexplaine­d disappeara­nces and swarms of snakes in the new episode “Return to the Everglades Triangle.” A nervous Bruce and Zak use a handheld thermal device from their boat to track the serpents.

“Star Trek: Discovery” (9 p.m., CBS): Violating chain of command and bypassing Starfleet’s orders, Lorca (Jason Isaacs) uses the biggest asset possessed by the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery — the ship itself— as a key component in his attempt to end the exhausting war with the Klingons once and for all, in the new episode “Into the Forest I Go.”
