Raiders’ Ruggs faces DUI in fatal crash

Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs III is facing a driving under the influence charge after a fiery vehicle crash early Tuesday in Las Vegas that left a woman dead and Ruggs and his female passenger injured, authoritie­s said.

According to police, Ruggs was driving a Chevrolet Corvette a little before 3:40 a.m. when it crashed into the rear of a Toyota Rav4 in a residentia­l area several miles west of the Las Vegas Strip.

The Toyota caught fire and the driver died, police said. She wasn’t immediatel­y identified.

Ruggs, 22, “showed signs of impairment,” police said in a statement that said he will be charged with felony DUI resulting in death.

Ruggs and his female passenger were hospitaliz­ed. Ruggs’ injuries were described by officials as not life-threatenin­g.

The Rams released disgruntle­d WR DeSean Jackson after just seven games with his hometown team. Jackson, who turns 35 on Dec. 1, has just eight catches for 221 yards and a TD this season . ... The Chiefs acquired former Pro Bowl LB Melvin Ingram III in a trade with the Steelers, who will receive a sixth-round draft pick. Ingram, 32, has just one sack and five solo tackles this season.

NBA: Bucks F Khris Middleton tested positive for COVID-19. A player who tests positive has to sit out for a minimum of 10 days, which could knock Middleton out for potentiall­y the next six games.

Conte, 52, who led Chelsea to the Premier League title in 2017 before leaving a year later, arrives a day after the firing of Nuno Espirito Santo . ...
