Brick sale in Oak Lawn; prayer breakfast in South Holland

Oak Lawn St. Gerald Catholic Church, 9310 S. 55th Court.:

Commemorat­ive brick sale through Feb. 15. The bricks will be placed in the memorial garden around the statue of the Blessed Mother to create a beautiful setting for prayer and meditation. Fewer than 200 bricks are needed for this final phase.

They can commemorat­e occasions such as baptisms, memorials, weddings, anniversar­ies, birthdays, first communions or confirmati­on. Bricks start at $200 each and are offered in different sizes. Spaghetti dinner and dessert auction at noon Feb. 5 in the Family Life Center. All ages are welcome. The event includes a spaghetti lunch after services that day and silent and live auctions for desserts starting at 12:45 p.m. Proceeds support the youth mission trip to the Quad Cities.
