Beecher
TRESPASSING UNWELCOME: A 65-yearold rural Beecher man who fired his handgun at uninvited visitors outside his home Sunday night has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm, a felony, and reckless conduct, a misdemeanor, according to Will County Circuit Court records online. Douglas P. Lileks of the 2700 block of Offner Road was arrested after deputies retrieved a 9 mm handgun from Lileks’ pocket and he failed to produce a firearm owner’s identification card and didn’t deny being intoxicated, Will County Sheriff’s police said. Lileks confirmed to deputies arriving at his home at 9:50 p.m. that several trespassers with flashlights had been on his property and that he had fired a weapon, police said, adding a search of the property turned up no trespassers. Deputies were summoned to the home by a neighbor’s 9-1-1 call, police said.
Burbank
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Three of four responding officers suffered injuries and a 46-year-old man withstood three shocks from a stun gun during a March 10 investigation into screaming and yelling in an apartment, police said. Omar Ocegueda, of the 6500 block of 82nd Place, is accused of aggravated battery, aggravated assault and resisting arrest, police said. They said the undressed man punched, kicked, attempted to bite and threw a glass statue at officers during the incident. The effort to take Ocegueda into custody began at his apartment’s front door and moved to the building’s main entrance, eventually ending inside the apartment he shares with his family, police said.

BURGLARY SUSPECT: Landres Thompson, 40, 25700 block of Pinehurst Drive, Monee, was arrested and accused of burglary March 14 in the Lincolnshire subdivision after attempting to force his way through the back door of one of three homes he had checked, taking the key from a riding lawn mower and defecating beside a home, police said. Thompson attempted to hide from officers and refused to be processed, resulting in police accusing him of an obstruction as well, they said.
Frankfort
BATHROOM VIDEO: A 49-year-old Frankfort man who police said recorded a female teen undressed via a hidden video recording in a residential bathroom was arrested Monday in New Lenox by Will County sheriff’s police. James M. McIntyre is charged with unlawfully videotaping a victim younger than 18 on Nov. 7, as well as unauthorized videotaping on Dec. 4 and covertly placing a video recording device on Dec. 4, according to Frankfort police and Will County Circuit Court records online. McIntyre was living with a woman and her children at the time, police said. The mother contacted Frankfort police, who recovered McIntyre’s cellphone and a recording device, police said.

UNLICENSED GUN: Qemail Kabashi, 35, Chicago, was arrested and accused of unlawfully using a weapon during a 6:50 a.m. March 13 suspicious vehicle investigation in the 1800 block of Cedar Road after officers found him asleep at the wheel with a loaded handgun on the passenger seat, police said. They said Kabashi lacked a concealed carry license.
Lansing
ARMED ROBBERY: Kahmisi J. Young, 21, 5200 block of Imperial Drive, Richton Park, was arrested for armed robbery March 3 and booked March 4 into Cook County Jail where he remained Wednesday in lieu of $120,000 bail, according to police, public and jail records.
STOLEN CAR: Reginald Sanders, undisclosed age and address, was arrested during a March 10 traffic stop and accused of illegally possessing a stolen vehicle and illegally possessing drugs, police said.
Mokena
STOLEN TRUCK ARREST: A counterfeit registration sticker that showed up as “suspended” was key to recovering a stolen pickup truck valued at $50,000 and the arrest of the driver, a 47-yearold Frankfort man, police said. Vincent D. Smith Jr. of the 900 block of Oak Ridge Court was taken into custody March 10 near the intersection of LaGrange Road and 191st Street after an officer recognized the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado’s rear-plate registration sticker was suspended, police said. Local investigators, determining that both the vehicle identification number and the door jamb sticker were bogus, contacted Illinois Secretary of State Police, who confirmed the vehicle had been taken from another, undisclosed, jurisdiction, police said. Smith is free on $10,000 bond, according to Will County sheriff ’s records online.
Monee
ARMED DRIVER: Marcell J. Nichols, 27, 300 block of Indianwood Boulevard, Park Forest, was charged with three counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in connection with a March 4 traffic stop on Monee-Manhattan Road west of Interstate 57, according to police and Will County Circuit Court records online. A search located two semi-automatic pistols in the center console. A Ruger LC9 9 mm was loaded with a sevenround magazine, with a bullet in the chamber, and the Bersa Thunder .380 was unloaded, police said. The charges were based on Nichols’ criminal history and a current felony indictment, police said.
CEMETERY THEFTS: Approximately 160 bronze headstone vases were reported stolen Feb. 27 from Skyline Memorial Park, 24800 Governors Highway, in unincorporated Monee, with several dropped vases recovered from around the property, Will County sheriff ’s police said. Each vase is valued at $279, sheriff ’s police said.
New Lenox
GUN ARREST: Timothy M. Ward Jr., 33, Chicago, was arrested during a March 14 traffic stop at Route 30 and Nelson Road, New Lenox and accused of being a convicted felon unlawfully possessing a firearm, armed violence and illegally possessing a controlled substance after an officer spotted the undisclosed handgun and recovered undisclosed black market prescription drugs, police said. Ward was additionally charged with violating his parole, according to Will County Circuit Court records online.
THEFT: Maureen F. Broderick, 65, 2700 block of Chessington Drive, New Lenox, was arrested Monday and accused of theft after a witness saw her stealing a candidate’s Lincoln-Way District 210 School Board political signs from the corner of Laraway Road and Calistoga Drive on March 15, police said.
Orland Park
STOLEN CAR: Kendal C. Williams, 38, Chicago, was arrested and accused of possessing a stolen motor vehicle Feb. 18 after officers “ran” the vehicle identification number on the SUV, parked at Orland Square Mall, and determined it didn’t exist in any of the 50 states, police said. Williams had a fictitious Dec. 6 receipt for the vehicle indicating it came from Texas, but officers determined the vehicle had been stolen out of East Dundee, police said.
SHOTS FIRED: An unspecified number of suspects shot at, but missed, a resident who tried to thwart their attempts to break into his vehicles in the 8600 block of 170th Street early Monday morning, police said in a release. “The dark-colored sport utility vehicle occupied by the suspects fled the area immediately and are no longer in the region. Prior incidents have been reported to have taken place in Mokena and Tinley Park involving what authorities believe to be the same suspects, leading investigators to believe the crew is making its way through the region committing similar crimes. A collaborative investigation is underway.”
Palos Heights
PUBLIC INDECENCY: Justas Ramonas, 34, 6500 block of 83rd Street, Burbank, was arrested and accused of public indecency March 11 after exposing himself in a car in the 11900 block of Harlem Avenue, police said.
ILLEGAL GUN: Arion T. Askew, 28, 2100 block of 123rd Street, Blue Island, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawfully using a weapon during an early morning traffic stop Monday in the 6300 block of College Drive after officers determined he had a loaded handgun without the required firearm owners identification card, police said. Askew was driving 26 mph over the speed limit when stopped, police said.
Palos Hills
DUI CRASH: Leanna J. Rogers, 42, 7500 block of Nottingham Drive, Tinley Park, was arrested and accused of drunken driving during a crash investigation Saturday in the 11000 block of Southwest Highway, police said.
Park Forest
AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Armanti W. Everett, 27, 100 block of Arbor Trail, Park Forest, appeared in Will County Circuit Court March 3 on five counts of felony aggravated battery/pregnant or disabled individual and five counts of misdemeanor domestic battery in connection with a Nov. 24 incident in that block, according to court records online.
