Regional Business After Hours comes to Golden Triangle Regional Airport
On Thursday, January 12, the Columbus Lowndes Chamber of Commerce, Greater Starkville Development Partnership, and West Point Growth Alliance are all uniting to invite their chamber members to a Regional Business After Hours at the Golden Triangle Regional Airport.
“Prepandemic,
Columbus,
Starkville, and West
Point would all host a
Regional
Business After Hours.
Columbus would have theirs in January, we would have ours in
April, and
Starkville would have theirs in October. But we decided that that was a lot,” said Lisa
Klutts, the
Director of
Community Development for the Growth Alliance. “So we decided to go in together and have one Regional Business After Hours in January.”
This Regional Business After Hours represents one of the first times that all three cities' chambers of commerce have been able to plan an event together since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. All three are working hand-in-hand to create a memorable event for their chamber members.
“We wanted to bring it back because we think it's a great opportunity for networking regionally,” said Hunter Harrington of the Greater Starkville Development Partnership. “It gives business owners the opportunity to get outside of their normal community and to network with others that they may have never met, to expand their network.”
“We're so excited to get to work with the other chambers and to get everyone in the Golden Triangle area together after a long stint of not being able to do this since the pandemic,” said Kathryn Borer, Director of the Columbus Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce. “The other chambers have been great to work with, and everyone's taken a part in making this event what it's going to be.”
Though this event is not
open to the general public, it does represent a time for chamber members of all three cities in the Golden Triangle to get together and enjoy socializing. The Regional Business After Hours will include heavy hors d'oeuvres and live music from Honeyboy & Boots, a Starkville music duo.
“Those always have good turnouts,” said Klutts. “Even though we don't do Business After Hours in West Point… Regional Business After Hours always had a huge turnout. I'm sure that the airport will be packed.”
Regional Business After Hours is also being sponsored by many businesses from the Golden Triangle, including the Golden Triangle Regional Airport, Rook's Wine Cellar, Bill Russell Ford Lincoln, Neel- Schaffer, The First Bank, Clark Beverage Group, Paccar, Renasant Bank, and more.
Regional Business After Hours will hopefully provide West Point Growth Alliance Chamber of Commerce members with new connections at the beginning of 2023, to help the city continue to grow throughout the rest of the year.
