Mr. Richard Albert Garley III, 75, passed away on January 26, 2023, at North Mississipp­i Medical Center in West Point, Mississipp­i. Richard was born on October 29, 1947 in Delhi, Louisiana to the late Richard & Laura Garley. He grew up on the family farm in Louisiana, before marrying his wife, Ann, in September of 1966. Richard graduated from the University of LouisianaM­onroe with a business degree in 1970. From there, he would move around the southeast while working for AT&T for the next thirtythre­e years. During this time, he was blessed with two children, Todd and Laurann, and the family settled in Clinton, Mississipp­i. After retirement, Richard focused his life on his passions, of which there were many, including his family, his faith, and sports. One of Richard's greatest passions was his faith, and he was a very active member in his home church communitie­s throughout his life. Along with this, he served on numerous overseas mission trips, including missions to Chile and Cuba. Richard was also a passionate husband, father, grandfathe­r, and friend. He was always dedicated to and supportive of his family, and those that knew him will know he never met a stranger. Another one of his passions was sports, and he could often be found cheering on the Bulldogs or the Green Wave in all of their efforts. Richard was a beacon of life in the community, and an exemplar of faith and love to those around him.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ann Garley, his two children Todd ( Jamie) and Laurann (Bryan), brother, Larry Garley, sister, Anita Duchesne and six grandchild­ren Hayden, Helen Claire, JB, Ben, Henry, and Charlie.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents Richard & Laura Garley, brother Jimmy Garley, and sister Kathy Garley.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday January 28, 2023 at Vibrant Church in Columbus. A private family burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving as pallbearer­s are Leon Kelley, Brett Robinson, Guy Mackey, Michael Garley, Marcus Duchesne, David Clary. Honorary pallbearer­s are the congregati­on of Vibrant Church. Visitation will be 1-2 PM Saturday at Vibrant Church. Memorials may be made to The Mission PO Box 328 West Point, MS 39773. Robinson Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangemen­ts.
