- MARY ALICE TAYLOR

Mrs. Mary Alice Taylor passed away on December 3, 2023, with her family in California. Mary Al- ice was born August 27, 1927, in Chickasaw County, MS, the daughter of the late Johnnie Elmore and Alice Bell Huffman Lawson. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed her family, gardening, and traveling across the United States often to be with her family. After living in California for 20 years, they returned to Cedar Bluff, MS, to live on their farm and retire. She lived 96 wonderful years and will be truly missed, loved, and remembered by her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mary Alice was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years Jesse Taylor, her daughter that she lost who was 53 years old, Mary Miller, her sister Josephine Wray, and her brother, Johnny Harold Lawson.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Towery officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in Columbus. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangemen­ts.

She is survived by son-Frank, Jeanie and Benjamin Taylor from California, son-Henry and Rainey Taylor from Oklahoma, daughter-Sherry Taylor, from Cedar Bluff, Chris and Amanda Armstrong, Matt and Tish Armstrong and family from Mississipp­i, and daughter-Carol and Steve Fisher and family from California; and a host of grandchild­ren, great grandchild­ren, and a great-great granddaugh­ter; 1 Brother, Robert Lloyd Lawson (Deena) of Birmingham, AL; Sister-in-Law: Mary Jane Lawson of West Point and a number of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.

Visitation will be Tuesday 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home.
