PSC Central District Commission­er De’Keither Stamps sworn in

JACKSON — Mississipp­i Central District Public Service Commission­er De'Keither Stamps was officially sworn into office today, marking the beginning of his term as a dedicated advocate for the people of Central Mississipp­i. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Mississipp­i State Capitol and Commission­er Stamps was joined by his newly elected colleagues who were also sworn in, Commission­er Chris Brown (Northern District) and Commission­er Wayne Carr (Southern District).

Commission­er Stamps, a native of Learned, MS, brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to public service to his new role. He is a retired Iraqi war veteran, former Mississipp­i State Representa­tive of District 66 and served several years on the Jackson City Council.

In his role as Mississipp­i Public Service Commission­er, he will tackle pressing issues such as expanding broadband access , solving the Jackson water crisis and ensuring fair utility rates for all consumers. His dedication to serving the public and his innovative approach make him a valuable asset to the state of Mississipp­i.

“I congratula­te my fellow Commission­ers and look forward to working together to continue to make Mississipp­i a great place to do business,” Commission­er Stamps said. “For years and years, I have been a #ManOnAMiss­ion in our state and today is one of the greatest honors that I could have never achieved without the support of my family, friends and the voters of the Central District. I'm excited to get to work and I am committed to work tirelessly to ensure quality services are provided to the citizens of Mississipp­i.”
