COLUMBUS -- The Department of Music at Mississippi University for Women is thrilled to announce its third edition of Music Day, Friday, Feb. 9. This event is designed for high school and community college students who would like to experience a day in the life of a music major.

Music Day is a unique experience that offers a comprehensive insight into the life of a music student, featuring engaging activities, lessons, rehearsals and workshops. The event is free to attend, but it does require registration, which can be done at https://www.muw. edu/music/openhouse/.

Participants will have the opportunity to take lessons with world-class faculty members, providing a firsthand look into the educational journey of aspiring musicians. Rehearsals with various ensembles will allow students to experience the collaborative and dynamic nature of the music programs at The W. Attendees will have the chance to meet and interact with current students, gaining valuable insights and perspectives on life as a music major. A campus tour will showcase our state-ofthe-art facilities, highlighting the resources available to our passionate and dedicated music community.

Parents also are invited to a dedicated information session where they can learn more about the academic and extracurricular aspects of our music programs. This session aims to address any questions or concerns parents may have about their child's pursuit of a music education.

Music Day is a fantastic opportunity for students and their families to explore the possibilities within The W's music programs. For further information and to RSVP, please visit https://www.muw. edu/music.

Music instruction has been a part of The W for nearly 150 years.
