Police search for suspect in T- Mobile store stabbing
UPPER DARBY — A TMobile employee who allegedly stabbed a customer during a dispute over a bill remains at large, according to police.
Darnell Schoolfield, 21, of the 5500 block of Harmer Street, Philadelphia, has fled from the area and may be in Georgia, police said.
Schoolfield was identified by the victim, 59, of Philadelphia, who suffered a stab wound to the left side at about 1 p. m. Tuesday inside the store located at 1884 State Road in Drexel Hill.
The victim was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia for emergency surgery in critical condition.
According to police Superintendent Michael Chitwood, the victim remains hospitalized and his condition has been upgraded to serious.
“It goes from a verbal argument into a physical al- tercation,” Chitwood said. “The victim was able to pull a portion of the employee’s name tag off his shirt during the struggle. The victim left the store and came to the police station to file an assault complaint and realizes when he gets here that he’s bleeding. He was stabbed in the left side.”
Schoolfield is wanted on charges of criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of instruments of crime and related offenses.
