Obediah F. Gebhart, “Obie”

Obediah F. Gebhart, “Obie”, age 76, on July 23, 2016 of Glassboro, NJ. Beloved husband of Joan L. (nee Lange). Father of the Rev. Michael C. Gebhart (Beth) of Cherry Hill, NJ and Robin G. Dannehower (David) of West Chester, PA. Grandfather of Amanda and Christopher Gebhart and Jillian Dannehower. Survived by brother, William Ronald Gebhart, and sister Helen Marie Jane Gebhart Wagner; nieces and nephews.

Born in Chester, PA he graduated from Chester High School in 1958. His life vocation was in retail and wholesale. He worked for several companies mostly in store management and store development including W.T. Grant, Spencer Gift and Trader Don. Obie was an entrepreneur. He owned and operated OG Card and Gift in Lancaster, PA for ten years and co-owned Zap Wholesale in Philadelphia from which he retired in 2002. He was an avid sports fan with special interest in the Philadelphia Phillies, the Philadelphia Eagles and thoroughbred racing. Obie served in the USMC Reserve from 1957-1963.

A visitation will be held Saturday, July 30 from 10:00-11:45am at St. James Lutheran Church, 400 Columbia Avenue, Pitman, NJ 08071.

A memorial service follow at 12:00pm

Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts are welcome to St. James Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
