WHO’S LAUGHING NOW?
So Trump makes a very cynical joking remark about the Russians, saying maybe they can find Hillary’s 33,000 deleted emails. Of course he talked right over the heads of all the media people. They’re spinning it like he’s asking Russia to commit espionage. These people are clueless. That’s why he’s popular: He talks to people, not reporters. Oh and another thing, why does CNN always do fact checks on Trump and never on Hillary? MR. TOM IN LINWOOD
CLEAN IT YOURSELF
Doesn’t anyone care about how their street looks anymore? How about people have a little self-respect and do some work themselves instead of whining about how the township or borough doesn’t clean the streets enough. ANGRY RESIDENT
DEATH WISH DEFINED
I have to wonder about some Bernie Sanders supporters. Even after Bernie himself said this week that they have to vote for Hillary to keep Trump out of the White House, some of them said no, they’re not going to vote for Hillary. They’d rather sacrifice our country than vote for Hillary Clinton, and that’s pretty myopic if you ask me.
‘CON’-FIRMATION
They say that the majority of Trump’s supporters are non-college educated, blue-collar workers, which I take as an insult to hardworking, middle class, high school educated workers. You certainly don’t need a college degree to figure out that “Don the Con” is a phony and a fraud. After all, common sense doesn’t come with a degree.
HATE IS THE ENEMY
I have been a Republican and a Democrat and Independent all throughout my life. To “Our Slant Is Showing,” it’s not us versus them. We have a real problem with hate and there is no democracy because democracy is being able to debate and have people listen. I’m sick of the hate in our discourse, and I’m tired of people talking about this stuff in the grocery. And I’m tired of people asking me who I’m going to vote for. It’s a very personal thing. Stop being hateful and thinking you’re better than everybody else. VIOLET IN PROSPECT
THE HOLE TRUTH
I agree with “Nothing New Here,” the lines weren’t painted last year, either. Also, half of Ridley Township was dug up this spring by Aqua to put in new water pipes. Who is going to repave all those streets before winter comes and turn the township into one huge pothole? The township, Aqua, or PENNDOT?
PARTY POOPER
Just wanted to make a correction on Chris Freind’s column in Wednesday’s paper. There’s a picture and it says “California delegate Jake Bird.” He’s a convention crasher from the Jimmy Kimmel show, he wasn’t a delegate for many any state. He was just walking around to do funny things for Jimmy Kimmel.
THE WRITE STUFF
Thanks to the subversion of Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Hillary Clinton has the nod as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate. We still have the option as Americans of writing in whomever we choose to be our leader. And for people to get behind Bernie Sanders, let’s remember we can still write him in regardless to what the Democratic establishment says. SANDERS 2016
WHO’S THE LIAR?
Another example of how apparently clueless most Americans are, they say full 68 percent of people in a CNN poll say that Hillary Clinton is untruthful and untrustworthy. How do these people think Donald Trump amassed his fortune? By being honest and trustworthy and truthful? Not by a long shot. Donald Trump is far more untrustworthy and far more untruthful than Hillary Clinton could ever be. All you had to do is look at Polifact and all the other fact checking organizations to find out that Hillary Clinton tells the truth three times as much as Donald Trump.

I’m a lifelong Democrat. I do not like Hillary Clinton. But I’m going in the voting booth in November, holding my nose and voting for Hillary Clinton, because Donald Trump is dangerous for our country.
