Myrtle I. Peppel Allen

Myrtle I. Peppel Allen, 90, of Upper Chichester, passed on August 23, 2016 at her home.

Born in Kittanning, PA, she lived in Chester before moving to her late residence 46 years ago. She was a graduate of Chester High, class of 1944 and worked at Miller-Flounders Dairy until her husband returned from the army after serving during World War II.

Myrtle loved her garden, crossword puzzles, playing “balloon ball” and going to the casino with her best friend Virginia. She was a great cook and hosted all holiday and birthday dinners. She was devoted to her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter.

Myrtle was the wife of the late Jesse P. Allen, her husband of 72 years, who died April 20, 2016.

She is survived by her children, Richard W. Allen, Kenneth R. Allen (Carole) and Karen L. Hennessy (Ed); her grandchildren, Jennifer (Pat), Bob (Jess), Jessica (Andre), Samantha (Chris), Ashley, and her great granddaughter Hailey.

Funeral Service: 11:00AM Monday, August 29, 2016 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Rd., Aston where friends may call after 10:00AM.

Burial: Cumberland Cemetery.
