Tech classes available to seniors citizens
UPPER CHICHESTER » Senior Lift invites Baby Boomers and senior citizens to join in the continuous journey of learning technologies. Classes begin this fall and run throughout winter and spring of 2017. Classes include training on a variety of PC’s, smartphones and other mobile technology devices. Participate in the business academy
SPRINGFIELD » Delaware County Chamber of Commerce holds its Business Leadership Academy (BLA) from September to June. Through a series of seven interactive sessions led by top professionals in a variety of fields, participants develop their leadership skills while learning about their community and issues facing Delaware County. Graduates are recognized in Harrisburg at a Delaware County legislative reception.
Established in 1989 and with more than 325 distinguished alumni, the program lays a foundation for the importance and significance of service to the community. The FDCC Leadership alumni hold County, State and Federal elected positions, lead non-profit organizations, corporations, or are small business owners.
Participation in the BLA is open to persons living and/or working in Delaware County. A maximum of twenty individuals will be accepted to participate in the program each year. Clifton Heights observes Patriot Day
CLIFTON HEIGHTS » The borough observes Patriot Day with a solemn memorial service at 1 p.m. Sept. 11, hosted by the Clifton Heights Fire Company, 20 W. Baltimore Ave. This is the fifteenth anniversary of the tragic events in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania.
Residents and those wishing to pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives on that day, current first responders and active military are invited to attend. Events include guest speakers, musical selections provided by the Greater Overbrook String Band, VFW Color Guard and light refreshments following the service.
