Christ Tabernacle Church:

14 S. Morton Ave., Morton, holds a free food pantry Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon. The food pantry is open to Delaware County residents every second and fourth Saturday of the month. Faith Temple Holy Church:

1007 W. Seventh St., Chester, in conjunctio­n with SEI Cares, sponsors a Back to School Supply Drive from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Backpacks and school supplies are given to the first 200 students to arrive. There are also free flash drives for students who use them in school.

Sacred Heart Parish:

316 E. Broadway Ave., Clifton Heights, is seeking donations for its upcoming Thrift Shop sales. Donations may be dropped off at the convent on Berkley and Holly streets this Saturday and the following dates: Saturday, Sept. 24; and Saturday, Oct 29. Please note that no clothing, exercise equipment, encycloped­ias, computers or books are accepted. The Thrift Shop, housed at the former convent, holds a huge clearance sale to make room for an all new inventory on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., with five rooms of bargains for shoppers. Booths Corner-Siloam U.M.Church:

3720 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, holds its second annual Candleligh­t Vigil, “A Time to Remember, A Time to Act,” in recognitio­n of Internatio­nal Overdose Awareness Day at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31. Brian Corson is the keynote speaker. Come out for a meaningful and inspiring time to join in unity to promote substance awareness and share in a beautiful tribute to those who have been lost. Aldan Union Church:

The Women’s Ministry hosts its annual women’s conference “Hope Out Loud” Sept. 10. This year the Barrick Family shares their miraculous story of tragedy turned to triumph. In November of 2006, the Barrick’s lives were changed forever after suffering devastatin­g injuries in a car accident. Additional­ly, Linda and Jen Barrick speak on “Joy for the Journey, Discover the Secret in Philippian­s.” The Barrick family ministers together with “Hope Out Loud” to help hurting and broken people to find hope and healing in the truth of God’s Word. We invite all women to join us for this message of hope and encouragem­ent, a testimony of God’s unfailing love and grace.
