William “Bill” Pascale, Sr, age 86, died peacefully September 20, 2016 in Springfiel­d. He was a resident of Chester Heights Borough and was preceded in death by his three sisters, Louise Saunders, Dorothy Hall, and Betty Jean Pascale, who all resided in Delaware County. He is survived by his wife, Takako Pascale, their children: Bill (Linda) Pascale, Jeff (Linda) Pascale, and Cyndi (John) Campo, and four grandchild­ren.

Bill was born in Chester on September 30, 1929 to the late Rocco and Dorothy Emma (Knott) Pascale and grew up in Garden City, Nether Providence Township. A 1948 graduate of Nether Providence High School, Bill served in the US Army during the Korean War and later joined the Army Reserve, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant and the position of First Sergeant of the 324th MEDSOM in Upland. After the Korean War, Bill married Takako and began a beautiful marriage of over 61 years. He joined the police department and was well known as the juvenile officer and Assistant Chief of Police in Nether Providence Township. He received an associates degree from Delaware County Community College and graduated from the Pennsylvan­ia State Police Academy and FBI National Academy. Bill played football for Nether Providence, in the Army, and for the semi-pro Wilmington Football League in the 1950s. He was well-known as a youth football coach in the Nether Providence Athletic Associatio­n as well. He loved spending time with his family, crossword puzzles, fishing, bowling, and the outdoors.
