NORWOOD >> Norwood Public Library, 513 Welcome Ave., holds a presentation, “From Byways to Highways: Historic Trolley Stops,” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29. What do Darby, Sharon Hill, Collingdale, Center City, the Delaware River Waterfront, Bartram’s Garden and a myriad of other historic sites have in common? They are all accessible over an existing lightrail network! Come out to learn about historic places accessible by trolley, including the Woodlands, Blue Bell Inn, Bartram’s Garden and Eden Cemetery, to name a few. The library holds free T’ai Chi Chih sessions on Thursdays Sept. 29-Nov. 17 at 1:30 p.m. T’ai Chi Chih is a healing art of joy through movement; movements can be performed by anyone regardless of age, weight or physical ability. Students grades 6-8 are invited to “hang out” at the library at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, with light refreshments and activities available.
Lego Club is on Mondays at 3:45 p.m. for grades K-2 and at 4:15 for grades 3-5. Afterschool Kids Klub for grades K-2 is held Tuesdays at 3:45. Registration is encouraged but not required.

NETHER PROVIDENCE >> The Helen Kate Furness Free Library, 100 N. Providence Road, Wallingford, invtes the public to take part in Indie Author Day, celebrating self-published and independent authors, connecting indie books, libraries and readers, on Saturday Oct. 8 from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the library. Meet with local authors writing for teens and adults. Fiction, mystery, fantasy, romance and historical fiction titles are presented and authors have books for sale. From 2-3, take part in the nationwide live-stream digital program featuring a qand-a with writers, agents and industry leaders, moderated by Jon Fine, formerly of Amazon. Play Quizzo, benefit Haverford
HAVERFORD >> Haverford Township Free Library, 1601 Darby Road, Havertown, hosts Friends’ Quizzo Night at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5. Quizzo is a popular trivia game in which teams compete by answering questions across all fields of knowledge. It’s fun, social and educational, and there are great prizes. All proceeds go directly to the Friends of the Haverford Township Free Library, a non-profit devoted to advocacy for the library and to raising significant funds for special library acquisitions, programs and services.
The event is bring your own snacks and BYOW (wine only, no beer or liquor please). Cost is $15 per team. Teams consist of up to five players. There are prizes for the winning team, and spot prizes given throughout the evening. The event is players ages 21 and over.
Paranormal authors visit Ridley
RIDLEY TOWNSHIP >> Ridley Public Library, 100 E. MacDade Blvd., invites the public to get into the Halloween sprit it with a special event presented by Matt Lake and Laurie Hull at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11. Laurie and Matt present a new program called “Dead of Winter,” where the two authors entertain and enlighten with tales of the supernatural and hauntings as well as true crime stories from the area’s checkered past. Matt Lake is the author of “Weird Pennsylvania” and other books in the Weird USA series, as well as a new book “Night of the Krampus.” Laurie Hull is a psychic medium and author. Among her books are “Supernatural Pennsylvania,” “Brandywine Valley Ghosts” and “Philly’s Main Line Haunts.” This free program is held in Garling Hall. Podcast program today at UD-Sellers
UPPER DARBY >> Upper Darby/Sellers Library Free Public Library holds a program to learn more about the Yandy Project Podcast at 11 a.m. today, Sept. 27. Nadine O. has always had a passion for inspiring others and sharing their stories. Graduating from Temple University in communications, she continued her journey behind the scenes working on documentaries, public broadcast and commercial broadcast shows. After well over 20 years in the industry, Nadine knew there was more she wanted to do to help others.
Many of her loved ones and acquaintances facing life in retirement, struggled with lack of purpose. Nadine O. became driven to share with anyone in the second stage of their life that “You are not done yet.” Hence, the Yandy Project Podcast was born.
Join the library to learn about this audio show full of information, tips and inspirational conversations with people just like you. Nadine O. hopes to inspire you to take action. If others can, you can too! You just have to get out there and do it!
