YELLOW-BELLY TOOMEY

Pat Toomey, in his latest ad, talks about having a backbone on Washington, but he won’t come out and say he’s not voting for Trump for fear of alienating the fools voting for Trump. And he won’t come out and say he’s voting for Trump for fear of alienating commonsense voters. So that sounds to me like Pat Toomey doesn’t have much of a backbone at all.

DRIP, DRIP ...

As a follow up on a published article a week or so ago, WNEP in Scranton a story Friday that Sunoco Logistics reported a gasoline leak from an 8-inch line in Gamble Township in Lycoming County, affecting water users downstream of the leak. Leak detection systems are a farce. Take it from someone who knows.

WAY TO GO, BOB

I read the story in the Daily Times about the about Brookline Theater and it really touched my heart. Congratulations to Bob Conley for the good work he did. As a teenager went to the Yeadon Theatre. Two elderly sisters ran the joint and used to give out cookies and punch to all the customers. Those were the days. HENNY THE BARTENDER

CHUCK ROCKS ON

I see where Chuck Berry at 90 years of age has got a new album out. There’s a guy that had more impact on rock ‘n’ roll as we know it today than anyone. I saw him at the Anvil Inn for a $2 cover charge in Kennett outside of Longwood Gardens. ROCK ‘N’ ROLLER IN ROCKDALE

THE FIX IS IN

It’s plain to see the major news outlets got their marching orders: Disregard anything you see on Wikileaks, just deflect to the Russians trying to influence our elections. This, however, is not true for Donald Trump. Mainstream media only discredits a source when it reveals the truth about the corruption of Democrats.

A BAD LESSON

Mr. Obama is taking a bow for the rise in high school graduations. I’m sure the students are great at texting and taking selfies, but have no skills to get a job. The Obama children went to a private Friends school but he does not allow school vouchers for “regular folks” because he is beholden to the unions and inferior teachers. He is not helping these new graduates but setting them up failure and more anger. What a shame, these kids were not given the opportunity to learn and succeed. IMMORAL TIMES

NO FRIEND OF CHRIS

I am extremely curious why Chris Freind has free reign to rant his judgmental, uninformed and selfrighteous views in this paper. He is not an expert on most of the issues he is talking about; for instance, the SEPTA strike. He does not ride SEPTA, he is not a union member, he does not know what the workers make and that many of them don’t get bathroom breaks. He did not interview any SEPTA employees. His arrogance and lack of any kind of investigation really diminish the Times as a serious source for information in the community. Opinions are opinions and I’m not interest in his. We all have them but we don’t constantly put them in the paper without any investigation or basis. I’m stopping my subscription.

NO THERE THERE

This “Carrier Pigeon Time” guy sounds like a chum to me. You’re probably never worked a day in your life and you sit around and push buttons all day and do nothing for anybody. You know you can have your high tech. High tech has caused nothing but problems, invasion of privacy and everything else. Our kids today can’t even think for themselves anymore because lazy intellectual idiots, which is what you sound like. That’s all I’ve got to say.

THE RICH GOT RICHER

“Where Is The Money” wants to know where the money allocated for infrastructure for the last 20 years has gone. Well, the fact is that our Republican Legislature loves to cut taxes for corporations and the rich. That’s a lack of revenue coming in, so they had to cut money from other things and one of things they cut money from is infrastructure, along with education – all the things that people need so they can give tax cuts to their rich friends and corporations.
