Nancy McCarthy McAneny

Nancy McCarthy McAneny (nee Shaw), 90, passed away on Friday, February 17th at Fair Acres.

Nancy, daughter of the late Ada B. and Charles L. Shaw was born in WilkeBarre, PA but moved to Media as a child and resided in Media until her death. She graduated from Media High School. Nancy retired (twice) from Bryn Mawr Hospital after many years as a telephone operator.

Nancy loved sitting in the sunshine, whether on a beach or just in her backyard chair. When able, she enjoyed morning walks around Media and looked forward to her daily morning sweet treats brought home to her from her son Kelly, who cared for her many years until the time of her death.

Nancy is survived by six children, sons Michael G. (Ronni), of Aston, John C. (Tobin), of West Chester, Kevin, of Austin, TX, Kelly of West Chester and daughters, Deborah Scheetz (Mike), of Villas, NJ and Nancy Collins, of Secane. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 greatgreat grandchild. She is also survived by sister Luise Gessler of Aston and brother Jay Shaw of Austin, TX and many nieces and nephews.
