CALL FOR HELP

Am I alone with this severe problem? I received about five to six calls a day, mornings and nights. The phone rings about five or six times and then hangs up; no voices. The caller ID shows cities around the country. Along with the caller number. If I call back I hear “this number is no longer in service.” I am disabled. Getting to the phone is a problem. I tried complaining to the phone company and received absolutely no help. They told me to change my number. HELP!

LOVE STORY

I really loved in the Sunday Times about Secane couple married 70 years, Fran and Al Kloss. They eloped to Elkton, Md., and I know that Elkton had several chapels along Route 40 for eloping couples. Babe Ruth married the second wife in Elkton. Great job on that story. OLD TIMER ON OXFORD ROAD

GO TEAM

I’d like to congratulate our 15-year-old team from Dynamic Volleyball Academy out of Aston that won the Spooky Nook tournament for volleyball and qualified to go to the national championships in Las Vegas. We’re all just so proud of the team. CONGRATS!

GIVE ME MORE

I live in one of the municipalities covered by the state police and I have no problem with paying $25 per resident or household fee that Gov. Wolf wants to enact. However, I also then want to see an increase presence in the area as our issues don’t get addressed as quickly or thoroughly as areas covered by a municipal police department. So if we have that trade off, I’m fine with it. I think it’s fair.

WHAT A MESS BLAME THE PARENTS

The schools and the streets are turning into

Trump revealed some of his budget recently. Of course he’s going to increase our already bloated defense spending which we don’t need, and he’s going to cut Environmental Protection Agency funding, which we do need. This is typical backwards Republican thinking. war zones, and it all comes down to one issue: Parents are not teaching their children respect. That’s respect for elders, school teachers and police officers. Nobody wants to mention this or make an issue, but that’s the root of the issue. Why won’t people mention this?

NIMBY

It seems like the driving forces maybe bringing the marijuana facility to Aston don’t live the township. Why don’t they look at their own municipalities instead of bringing it here? CONCERNED ASTONIAN

STONED AGAIN

Did anyone else catch the humor in “Smoked Out” complaining about pot smokers while offering the eloquent turn of phrase “Why do you think you’re called stoners? Because you’re always stoned.” That definitely rivals any obvious realization college freshmen have after getting high following a philosophy 101 lecture.

ROLL ME A MIRACLE

Yes, I’m calling about “Smoked Out.” You haven’t got a clue. Legalizing marijuana would raise tax money. As far as creating zombies go, I smoke marijuana for medical reasons and you wouldn’t even be able to tell that. Do you want to meet me and call me a zombie to my face? Marijuana is not addictive and it’s a miracle drug. GET A GRIP

SPARK IT UP

Yeah I’m calling about “The Citizen,” talking about zombies and smoking marijuana. When I was 18 years old, I was burned by hot tar on a roofing job. It almost killed me. Marijuana was just getting good and it helped me recover from one of the worst injuries anybody could have. So, “The Citizen,” either smoke some or shut up. THE ROOFER

A CALVALCADE OF IDIOTS

Attorney General Jeff Sessions said that marijuana is dangerous as opioids. That is one of the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard in my life. However, it seems that every day either Trump or somebody in his administration is saying one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard in my life.
