Good things seen coming to America

- Dave Schlott, Brookhaven

To the Times: Thank you for the article on our president’s address to Congress. I watched most of the address (but unfortunately Comcast had some technical interruptions), and President Trump covered most of the issues and campaign promises and a few surprises that brought most of Congress to their feet and long applause, but not surprising the other side of the aisle, on most of the issues, sat there with a sort of rebellious manner. Well, they are the ones, like all elected officials, who have to answer to the people who put them in office.

I have a quote from, Abraham Lincoln that sort of fits the mold of our president ...

“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.”

The election has given President Trump that power. He is a businessman (not a politician) and has never served in elected office. He is trying the break the bureaucratic/political mold of Washington, decades of our country going down hill and the other side of the aisle serving a few instead of all equally.

Lobbying has to stop, because it only serves the special interests and lines the campaign pockets. I see the same thing happening in Harrisburg.

Well, enough said on my opinion and the good things I see coming that will make America Strong Again.

God Bless America!
