END THE SUFFERING

Why do we as a nation have to go through all of this angst when it comes to health care? There are 32 countries including Australia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Canada and the U.K. that provide universal health care for their citizens. Why can’t we? Could it be because our “leaders” are beholden to the health care industry? DISGUSTED

HOW IT HAPPENED

While I recognize “Spaced Out’s” analogy using the “2001: A Space Odyssey” movie to our current problem of an attention-span deficit, I do not believe we must go so far back. Look at what happened just last November when so many could only react to the ridiculously incoherent sound bites of the campaign promises. Now it’s too late and we must suffer the real consequences of our naïveté and laziness because we just will not understand what can happen with a disconnected electorate. I still predict two years at most. DELCO SEER

CASEY AT THE BAT

To “Olga Perolga,” I don’t know how you came to your conclusion about Bob Casey but let me say this: His office staff workers were very helpful to me when I went to them and needed help with my Social Security Disability appeal. Every time I called his office they kindly offered their assistance to me. They couldn’t have been any kinder. As far as I’m concerned, Bob Casey did right by me, Olga.

USE YOUR BRAINS, PEOPLE

I read a good letter to the editor by Barry Cutler of Springfield, saying “President Trump’s cuts would be disastrous for our nation.” Of course they would be, and anybody with a brain can see that, but Trump supporters are so stupid that they think that Trump is telling the truth when he says that his cuts would be good for our nation. That’s how stupid these people are.

STAY WITH THE GOP

In response to Jodine Mayberry’s column last Friday: So you honestly want the Democrats to replace the Republicans on county council? Look at the city of Philadelphia. It’s been run by Democrats for over 60 years now. Take at the look at the condition it’s in. I’ll stick with my Republicans in Delaware County. SUSIE SECANE

HERE THEY GO AGAIN

“Business As Usual” has a good point about it seeming like everyone has resigned themselves to expecting indictments against Philadelphia politicians. A few years ago the parody newspaper “The Onion” had an article about how it was an annual holiday for rich people in California to have their house burnt down by wildfires. I feel like that’s how media outlets in the Philadelphia market are with politicians being indicted. Unfortunately, these are real news outlets covering real politicians, not a comical paper like “The Onion.”

TRY AGAIN

“Why We Need Russia” says that we need Russia in case North Korea does something because “China is going to get in on it, and we should think about that for a minute.” Well, the problem is that “Why We Need Russia” doesn’t think all apparently, because that’s one of the most idiotic reasons I’ve ever heard in my entire life as to why we should be friends with Russia.

FAKE NEWS

I read a letter to the editor by Mr. John Howell of Upper Darby saying that EPA dumped millions of gallons of something of dangerous chemicals in the rivers. I don’t think so. The EPA protects us. Donald Trump shouldn’t be president. He’s off the hook. OFF THE HOOK

JUST DESPICABLE

All you people who would rather pay the tax penalty then get insurance through the ACA, just prove how selfish you are. You’d rather go back to the old days where you can go to the emergency room, which raises the premiums for everybody else who has insurance. And that shows how selfish you are; but you’re Republicans, so it’s not surprising that you’re that selfish.

HOW BAD IS IT?

I’m just wondering, if Obamacare is as disastrous as the GOP claims, why are millions of people across the country shouting, “Keep your hands off my Obamacare!?” BILL FROM WAYNE
