It is with great sadness that the family of Edward Martin Schweizer, 61, of Morton, announce his passing on Friday, March 24, 2017, surrounded by his family.

Born in 1955, Edward lived in Delaware County throughout his life. Ed was a 1973 graduate of Springfiel­d High School. Throughout his childhood and adult life, he was passionate­ly involved in the Boy Scouts of America. Ed was a jack of all trades, he was an auto mechanic, printer, builder, and manager. Ed retired taking membership­s at the Prospect Park Swim Club, where he also loved spending his summer nights with his family. He had a love for animals, handiwork, athletics, the Phillies, and the Flyers.

He loved vacationin­g with his family anywhere with a beach, where he also enjoyed boating and fishing. Ed marched to the beat of his own drum, and loved making people laugh.

Ed is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons, Edward (Denise), Stephen, and David; his granddaugh­ter, Alyssa; his mother, Angela Schweizer; and his sisters, Sue Webb (William), and Theresa Humes (Albert); his cousin, Franny McCollum; and his many nieces and nephews.

He was predecease­d by his father, Edward W. Schweizer.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be held at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074 on Wednesday, March 29th, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Edward’s burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Associatio­n, 5455 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43214 or to the Providence Animal Center, 555 Sandy Bank Rd., Media, Pa. 19063 at the request of the Schweizer family.
