Sylvester V. “Sy” Adelsberg

Sylvester V. “Sy” Adelsberg, 87, of Ridley Park died on March 27, 2017 surrounded by loved ones at Riddle Memorial Hospital.

Born in Lilly, PA, Sy has lived in Ridley Park since 1952. He was employed by Baldwin Lima Hamilton Locomotive Company from 19521955 and Jack Pritchard Painting from 1955-1962. Sy then established his own painting business in 1962 and retired in 2005.

Sy was a graduate of Lilly High School, class of 1948 and served in the US Navy from 1948-1951.

He was an avid sports fan; especially the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He enjoyed gardening, fresh water fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Sy was the father of the late Kimberly Ann Adelsberg Prince, son of the late Sylvester and Sophia Zurilla Adelsberg and brother of the late Edward Adelsberg.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Margaret M. Ellers; his children, Kevin G. Adelsberg, Kenneth F. Adelsberg (Cheryl) and Kathryn M. Haines (Barry); nine grandchildren, one great grandson and his former wife, Rosella Mrozek Adelsberg.

Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM Monday, April 3, 2017 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA 19022. Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N.
