Register now for transcript, financial aid night
CHESTER » College Access Center, 400 E. 21st St., holds a Transcript And Financial Aid Evaluation Night for high school seniors and juniors 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 5. Students meet with college admissions and financial aid professionals for a free assessment of high school transcripts along with a financial aid completion services. The event is designed especially for juniors and their parents wondering “Does my child really have the grades to get into the colleges of their choice next year?” and seniors in need of assistance in FAFSA completion and scholarship searches.
Representatives from Widener, PSU-Brandywine, DCCC, Neumann, Cheyney and Rosemont are on-hand at the event. Juniors can only get an evaluation by bringing copies of their high school transcripts and any complete SAT or ACT scores. Seniors and their parents of seniors must bring important income documents such as a copy of 2015 completed tax return, W2s and 1099s.

Awards ceremony returns to Darby
DARBY BOROUGH » Spirit of a Dove Entrepreneur’s Association hosts its fifth annual awards celebration at 4 p.m. April 9 at the Darby Recreation Center, 1022 Ridge Ave. Cost of $40 for adults, $25 for youth includes music, food, dancing, vendors and more. This year’s theme is “Building Bridges and Opening Doors.”
Award recipients include Larry Whuite, Sr. of VIP Events, Alfred Robinson, Jr. of Robinson Paiting, and singers JoVan Chaney and Victoria Trowery.

Hear ADHD info, get CE credit
NEWTOWN » Stratford Friends School, 2 Bishop Hollow Road, Newtown Square, holds “An Update in Understanding ADHD” 8:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 5. The talk presents information about ADHD that is important for the school setting in regards to diagnosis, co-existing conditions and treatment approaches, including medication. Wendy Ross, MD, FAAP, a developmental and behavioral pediatrician is the presenter.
The session is co-sponsored by the Philadelphia Society of Clinical Psychologists and provides one hour of CE credits for psychologists licensees and is approved for Act 48 Credit. Learning objectives are: List conditions that may present with symptoms of ADHD and co-exist with ADHD; explore approaches to ADHD; identify potential effects side effects of ADHD therapies.
