LOVE THE AARP FOUNDATION

Thanks and congratulations to the AARP Foundation tax people in Aston. I’ve used them for about five years and they’re doing a fantastic job again this year as they’ve done every year. Don’t hesitate to go to them if you’re a senior who still has to do their taxes. They’re a fantastic bunch. Thank you for all your hard work.

HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN

Thanks to the Times for putting the birthdays back in the paper this week. I really missed them while they were gone, and I can’t believe that Doris today is 95. Thank you again.

HOORAY FOR JODINE

I’m so glad that Jodine Mayberry is back writing for the Delco Times. Her voice of reason is a perfect contrast to Flowers’ and Friend’s rantings. RIDLEY PARK

STIFLE, MEATHEAD

Archie Bunker was absolutely right calling Michael Stivic “Meathead” – then and now. Rob Reiner should stop weighing in on politics. RG IN RIDLEY PARK

ADVICE TO THE STARS

I remember when Kim Basinger said she would leave the United States if Bush won in 2000. Guess what? She’s still here and her children are doing good. The same goes for Alec Baldwin and everybody else. So how about if everyone who said they’d leave if Trump won focus on working to make the country a better place instead of complaining and not doing anything about it? Worry about leaving a better world for your children, because if not maybe you should leave.

GNAW ON THIS

Hey “Bob From Sharon Hill,” don’t you ever quit whining? You call all these people stupid, but I’ve got news for you: If a gerbil ran for president on the Democratic ticket, you’d be the first one to vote for him. So who’s really stupid? Have a nice day. SATCH

FOLLOW THE REPUBLICANS

Democrats need to stop being hypocrites and confirm Judge Gorsuch. Republicans confirmed two of Obama’s picks in keeping with Senate tradition. Democrats came up with the “Biden Rule” suggesting a president in his last year of office should not nominate a Supreme Court Justice. Democrats started the idea of a “simple majority” rule change when they were the majority. As Obama famously said, “Elections have consequences.” The American people first voted a majority Republican Congress, which effectively stopped Obama’s agenda, then voted for a Republican president, while the House and Senate retained Republican majorities. The will of the American people is clear.

TWO GREAT GUYS

I was driving along South Avenue on Sunday afternoon and realized I had a flat, so I turned off on a side street in Glenolden. Two gentleman happened to be working on a car, and when I told him I had a flat, they came over and put air in my tire. I really appreciated that. They saved me a lot of trouble and I want to thank them again. GRATEFUL

BURNED BY JODINE

I enjoy reading the guest columns from James F. Burns. The most recent one was an excellent article. The Time should put more columns like this in the paper instead brining back Jodine Mayberry. CONCORD RESIDENT

PAT ‘EM DOWN

Regarding health care, I’m very disappointed in Pat Meehan regarding his position on health care – or should I say lack thereof. We will let him know how we feel in the May primary. He will not get our votes. ANN FROM DREXEL HILL

Pat’s not up for re-election this year — Ed.

THOSE RICH ELITISTS

Here’s an interesting fact: Sixty percent of the richest counties in the country voted for Hillary Clinton. Why is that? They’re elitists. They want us – the little guy – to pay more taxes so they can make more money.
