Robert W. Tipping, Sr.

Robert W. Tipping, Sr., age 95, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2017. Born on March 29, 1922, Bob was a lifetime resident of Media, PA where he attended Media High School. He served his country in the Army during WWII after which he began a long, successful career as a paperhanger.

An active member of the Media community, Bob served as a Media Borough Councilman and as a lifetime member of the Media Fire Co. He was also a member of the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge and Lulu Temple. Bob enjoyed gardening and spending time with his beloved family. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy Tipping (nee Lampert), and his four brothers, John, Alfred, Walter and Donald.

Bob is survived by his son, Robert Tipping (Joanne) of Media, PA; daughter, Deborah Deihl (John) of Norwood, PA; 3 grandchildren, Brian Tipping, John Deihl and Jaclyn Deihl; 3 great-grandchildren, Austin Tipping, Jackson Deihl and Noah Deihl.

His funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. at the Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. 4th St., Media, PA 19063 on Saturday, April 22, 2017. Friends may call from 9 - 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
