WHY VOTE THE GOP
I had to laugh when that caller signed off as “Newt Gingrich.” I got this image in my mind that it was the real Newt Gingrich throwing darts at a picture of Paul Ryan wishing he had his old job back, with nothing else to do but call up papers around the country with a Sound Off-style feature. But anyway, to “Newt Gingrich’s” question: A significant amount of rankand-file union members have quietly voted Republican for well over half-acentury. Any working person who sees the big picture and wants to actually have a job to work at is going to vote Republican.

In Donald Trump’s robocall for the House seat in Georgia, does he tout the qualifications of the Republican candidate? No. Probably because, just like Trump, he has no qualifications for the job. He just tears down the Democratic candidate. If Republicans can govern as well as they fear monger, they would be good for the country. To the people going on about Trump not releasing his tax returns: There is no law that says you have to release your tax returns if you become president, so wise up and act like you know what you are talking about.
CARING COUNTS
Let me educate the caller who pointed out that the Obamas and other Democrats vacationed and enjoyed the company of wealthy friends, etc. It’s not enjoying wealth that makes you rude, egotistical or uncompassionate. Caring about others and even putting their needs above your own is what counts. Did that caller know that Warren Buffet, President Obama and others were willing to give more by raising taxes on their own tax bracket? President Obama wanted to give average Americans the same insurance those hypocritical empty suits enjoy.
That never even made it to the floor and the GOP allowed ACA only if the penalty for no insurance was included. RNB
