LOVE MY VA CARE
To “A Sick Idea,” saying to look at the state of the VA hospitals for why we can’t have a single-payer system: I’m a veteran and I’ve been receiving care at the VA Hospital in Philadelphia for more than 10 years and also in an outpatient clinic when I lived in Indiana, and the Dayton, Ohio, VA Hospital. I’ve received very good care and all of those places and continue to go to the VA in Philadelphia to this day. And as for a single-payer system, the hospitals under that system will be funded and work well because the politicians who will be using them will see that they’re funded. TERRY
EVERYBODY DOES IT
To “Social Diversion,” blaming Social Security’s problem on Bush: Every American president has drawn from Social Security since FDR to use the cash to run the government. Every president since FDR has put that money back. The following president draws bonds and pays back the money from the Social Security. The problem is that sometimes those bonds aren’t worth the amount that they’ve taken. However, in 2010 Barack Obama stopped paying those bond payments back to Social Security. During the rest of his time in office, he took one $1.7 billion from Social Security and Medicare to prop up Obamacare. Get your facts straight, “Social Diversion.”
BAN THE PEOPLE
“Pull The Plug” said that we have to ban computers and the high-tech gadgets because they are instruments of evil. These are inanimate objects. And high tech gadgets and computers save millions of lives every year. It’s people that should be banned, because people are evil.
A MATTER OF PRINCIPLE
I don’t get these callers complaining about “I don’t hear any Trump supporters upset over Trump flying to Mar-A-Lago every weekend like they were with Obama.” I don’t think you’ll find a lot of people who voted for Trump happy with the bills he’s racking up. On top of that, the main issue with Obama’s vacations was that he was arranging separate trips for his family to fly all over the world. The principle there is a little different.
STUDY YOUR ECONOMICS
I have news for people like “Still Coughing.” I work in a small business. It’s just two people. I make $15 an hour and my boss is getting along quite well with me making only $15 an hour. So people like you are just complete idiots that don’t understand the economic system one bit, but you act like you do. ONE WHO KNOWS
LISTEN UP, SNOWFLAKES
The Swarthmore and Lansdowne liberals better call up George Clooney, Martin Sheen, Barbra Streisand and the whole crew out there in California and tell them to get on the ball. They need to tell Kim Jong Un that Davis, Berkley and other places out there in California are nuclear-free zones. He needs to respect their concern for the environment.
CLUELESS CLINTON
Hillary Clinton was on TV talking about Democratic values. What values? You didn’t expound on that during the election. Nobody knew what you stood for, except cherry picking whatever parts of liberal ideology would help get you more money and power. You have no values; you have no morals. You’re an empty pantsuit.
HERE’S A TIP
The hubris and ignorance on the left never ceases to amaze me, like when “Get A Clue, ‘Coughing’” calls another caller “clueless.” The common denominator between federal tipped employees minimum wage law and the varying state laws modeled on it is that if you don’t make it to the standard minimum wage between your tipped employee minimum wage and your tips for that shift, your employer has to make up the difference (I know there are cases of unscrupulous owners who ignore this but that’s not the issue at hand). “Get A Clue” should read some basic labor law before running their mouth and showing their own ignorance.
