SCRANTON » Carolyn Sciblo of Havertown and 13 other third-year medical students at have been notified that they will be inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS). The mission of the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) is to recognize individual­s who are exemplars of humanistic patient care and who can serve as role models, mentors, and leaders in medicine. GHHS honors medical students, residents, fellows, role-model physician teachers and others who demonstrat­e excellence in humanistic clinical care, leadership, compassion and dedication to service. GHHS currently has more than 25,000 members in training and practice.

DELAWARE, OHIO » Courtney Clark of Chester has been awarded a competitiv­e Theory-to-Practice Grant from Ohio Wesleyan University. The grants support research, internship, service, and cultural-immersion opportunit­ies throughout the world.

The Theory-to-Practice Grant awarded to Clark supports a project titled “Conversing with Racial, Cultural, and Language Barriers Present: Guayaquil, Ecuador.” The project will be conducted in Guayaquil, Ecuador, during summer 2017.
