- IT’S A MYSTERY

BACK ‘EM UP

I hope all the Eagles fans know that the defensive backs are only as good as the pass rush – no pass rush, no stopping these receivers and quarterbacks who are too good. Wake up. JEANETTE G.

JUST BECAUSE YOU’RE PARANOID ...

I see that “What A Dump” is telling people to nark out their neighbors for code violations … as if people weren’t paranoid enough today as it is. THEY’RE WATCHING …

FACTS? WHAT FACTS?

“Some Kids Get Lucky” doesn’t seem to understand facts, and apparently their kid doesn’t either since they’re Republican. Republicans have been cutting education funding for decades and you think there’s no problem with this. That is being short sighted and not carrying about facts.

WHEN WE WORKED

Thanks to “You Greedy Workers” for weighing in on what they were making back in the late ‘40/early ‘50s. Any way you slice it, 65 cents an hour in the that time frame would be around $6-$7.50 an hour today. So when all these people talk about how we have to get back to treating American workers like in the post-World War II era, they need to remember people weren’t getting anymore for entry-level work then they are today. I guess the difference is people understood the idea of working for what you want instead of demanding it be given to you through legislation.

WHERE’S CHESTER?

I had to laugh at the story about county council and the “state of the county” speech, saying everything was great in Delco and getting better. I guess they forgot about Chester and what a mess it is. Or don’t they think it’s part of Delaware County? Oh, that’s right, I forgot — there’s never been a person of color on county council from Chester or anywhere else. I guess minorities need not apply for jobs on county council. That’s why they keep forgetting about the county’s only city and it’s very big problems. ONE WHO KNOWS

A THIRST FOR MEDIOCRITY

“Some Kids Get Lucky” says that their kids are Republican and have a thirst for knowledge. Well, if they voted for Donald Trump, they obviously don’t have a thirst for knowledge at all. Trump has proven time and time again by his actions that the people who voted for him are just not very bright.

LOCK THEM UP

“Take A Shot” brings up a good point. It was tough sentencing on crimes with guns that cut down on gun violence, not stripping the public of weapons. Criminals still get ahold of guns; anti-gun laws don’t stop that. However, when armed robbery on the street for $100 and a murder rap on killing a rival carry nearly the same sentence (with no plea deals or soft on crime judges to help), that’s enough to make most criminals stop and think.

WHAT A FEUD

That’s really weird, what’s going on between Gov. Wolf and Lt. Gov. Stack. Stacky mistreats the household help and Wolfie takes away his state police protection? And these two are going to run together on the same ticket next year? There’s something very strange going on, and I don’t think we’re getting the full story.

THE GOP PLOT

This caller who signed off “The Contract With America” reference to the Republicans’ phrase from the 1990s. It was not a “contract with America,” it was a “contract on America” by the Republicans to try to destroy the country.

DONNIE’S CON GAME

To “It’s Always Obama,” seven of Trump’s trips to Mar-A-Lago have cost more money than Obama spent in one year of traveling. The American people are smart and are in the right to be upset. Trump is charging the government for rooms for people, for a lot of extras, plus rooms at Trump Tower. It’s like Michael Bloomberg said at the Democratic National Convention, “I’m a New Yorker and I know a con when I see one.” So have fun being conned, “It’s Always Obama,” while Trump rides the gravy train on the backs of the American people. JUST SAYING IN ASTON
