Chi’s Hagel adds to haul with Del Val doubles title

It’s a clean sweep for Joey Hagel.

Chichester’s top dog recently won the league’s singles tournament, and Wednesday, he doubled his hardware count by teaming up with Clifton Paasewe to defeat Academy Park’s Kevin Tran and Abdulai Gassama, 6-2, 6-2, to win the Del Val doubles tournament.

Hagel and Paasewe didn’t drop a set throughout the entire tournament, and the win meant that the Eagles won the league’s singles, doubles and team title. Both teams advance to the District 1 doubles tournament Friday at the Healthplex.

Penn Wood’s John Kpanka and Victor Alao bounced back from a first-set loss to win the third-place match over Glen Mills’ Clifton Ford and Destin Dortch, 3-6, 6-0, 6-3. of Del Val League tennis

In nonleague action: HAVERFORD 6, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 1 >> Connor Rose (6-3, 6-4) and Andrew Field (6-0, 6-1) secured a pair of straight-set victories at No. 2 and No. 3 singles to help the Fords roll over the Colonials.

Sammy Ortiz and Scott Kaplan (6-0, made quick work of their opponents at 1 doubles.

Girls Lacrosse

Katie Crager and Taylor Lucey picked the same day to hit some personal milestones in Episcopal Academy’s 17-0 Inter-Ac whitewashi­ng of Baldwin.

Lucey handed out a whopping seven assists and scored three goals as she cleared the 100-goal, 100-assist and 200-point plateaus in the same game, while Crager scored five times and added an assist as she passed the 200-point mark for her career.

Izzy Rohr led a stingy defensive effort by causing four turnovers, grabbing four ground balls and snaring three draw controls.

In nonleague action: SACRED HEART 14, BONNER & PRENDERGAS­T 13 >> Lanie Santora buried the game-winning goal with a minute left and Danielle Santora fired home seven goals and added two assists as the Lions claimed their third win in three days.

Hannah Seifried continued her recent torrid play with five goals and three assists for Sacred Heart. Keeley Weis spearheade­d the Pandas’ offense with seven goals, while Riley Dolan scored twice.

In the Bicentenni­al League: JENKINTOWN 13, DELCO CHRISTIAN 4 >> Allie Zubyk carried the load for the Knights’ offense, firing home a hat trick, and Alison Levis also scored, but the Knights couldn’t overcome a 6-1 halftime deficit despite 13 saves from Isabelle Brewster.

Boys Lacrosse

Adam Ritter was up to his old tricks again. The Archbishop Carroll star set up his teammates five times and added a pair of goals for good measure as the Patriots walloped Conwell-Egan, 17-0, in a Catholic League rout.

Fynn McNulty and Mike Miner each scored hat tricks for Carroll, while Andy Borkowski added two goals and three assists and Connor O’Brien paired two goals with two assists. Will Stenger won 15 of 20 faceoffs
