75 Years Ago – 1942:

District Attorney William B. McClenachan Jr. has announced his support of Maj. Gen Edward Martin. The county prosecutor, who is a candidate for the state Supreme Court, is supporting Martin for the Republican nomination for governor against Sen. James J. Davis. McClenachan, who has been district attorney since 1936 and has been associated with the office for over two decades, prosecuted John J. McClure and the Chester city officials last year for their part in the Chester Water Company sale. His announcement has added impetus to the anti-McClure and anti-Davis campaign in Delaware County.
